http://www.hertsad.co.uk/news/man-who-fell-from-the-roof-of-st-albans-football-club-dies-1-5111912 Really sad news and thoughts are with his family and friends RIP. It would be nice if Watford Fc could do something as I would have thought there will be a fund raiser for his family of some sort. Its bad enough if you die when you get paid to do a job but looks like this bloke was doing it for nothing and doubt there will be any sort of Insurance cover. If it was not for men like this grass root Football would not exist. Really got into Non-League a lot more since Watford got into the Premier league, not got any real loyalty to any one club but due to social circles to go and watch the Saints a bit, would recommend Non League to any real Football Fans, it does make you realise that most the people that do work at these clubs and make it work do it for nothing and if they don't only contribute financially they give up a hell of of time and get little thanks when things go well and loads of stick when it does not.
Very sad to hear someone who has volunteered with so much commitment to a cause has died 'on the job'. I'll admit I'm a little confused what a fund raiser for his family would achieve though. Lobbing money in a pot seems to be a very modern reflex to tradegy yet I expect his family's main needs right now can't be resolved with cash.
