Whilst it was a nasty and reckless tackle I bet a few neutrals were quite pleased to see Zaha get a wack!

Probably were petty good compared to how Reading have played ..

It was Huntley & Palmer who had the biscuit factory in Reading, at one time, the largest in the world.

In 1970 H&P merged with Jacobs & others to form Associated Biscuits. This was a response to the creation of United Biscuits from the union of several Scottish biscuit companies.

On reflection, I'm not certain if Club were ever made in Reading.

    Apologies for any confusion caused.

I would go further. Play a full 11 of our under 18s but insist that 4 of them play for Reading. Should make a game of it.

Lived there for a few years. It was the 3 B's they were famous for wasn't it ? Brewing, Biscuits but what was the other B ? Can't remember. Balloons ? Billiards ? Boxes ? BJs ?

Have ticket and coach booked. Don't feel the same level of regret as I did going to Burnley.

Going to be dull and give a score prediction and lineup.

    2-1 Watford.

    --Deulofeu--Quina--Capoue--Sema--

According to 'Hob Nob Anyone?' we have sold our allocation of 2,200.
This means we either have 2,200 eternal optimists or 2,200 who are as "thick as a whale omelette."*

Sold out according to club website, so should be a decent enough atmosphere.

I think you're thinking of Fulham...still 300 tickets left as of 1 hour ago - 2,500 tickets sold.

Yes at a second glance you are correct, I see that we sold the initial 1,500 tickets that we were give and Reading increased it to 2,800. There probably won't be too many more home fans in the ground for this one.

    Hmmmm.
These are always banana skins. A league team is still a league team. We will play about half and half regulars with bench warmers I’m guessing it’ll be tight 2-2

I have no interest in this competition until we get to the final. when i will expect to buy at least four tickets to hawk out to Man Utd fans from Uxbridge..

Or Capoue and Doucouré. If one of those two gets injured, we have no natural replacements for the way we'd want to play. That's the key pairing for us. Think we could just about get by losing a striker or a centre back but if either of our two fit central midfielders get injured, we'd be in trouble.

Can't see Hughes or Pereyra being able to play there in a two and with no Chalobah or Cleverley, I'm guessing we might end up with Wilmot there.

If that 11 can’t beat a rubbish Reading side then we don’t deserve to go through. With Spurs on Sunday, no need to risk any injuries to our starting 11.

If we were to keep any starters in, it should only be Holebas and Janmaat as that’s where we actually have adequate cover.

Can’t afford any injuries to Kaba or Cathcart so they shouldn’t play.
Can’t afford for Doucoure or Capoue to get injured either as we have no cover. As for Gray and Deeney, they are our only proven strikers so why risk them. Pereyra and Hughes are vital right now as well. So in all seriousness, I hope we don’t start with any of our starting 11.

It would be different if we had Deulofeu, Chalobah, Cleverley 100% then some more changes could happen, but we don’t.

I hate it when we make wholesale changes for games like this. I understand others need to be given a chance but I'd like to see us keep momentum and also actually have a half decent go at the league cup for once.

    I'd play:

    ------------------ Gomes ------------------

    Femenia - Cathcart - Kabasele - Masina

    - Sema - Doucoure - Capoue - Pereyra -

    ------------ Deeney - Success -------------

Then as any points we get from the top 6 will be a bonus, why not play our shadow XI against Spurs and Man U so our first team is fit and raring to go in the big one against Fulham?

I was always a follower of the equally defunct Oxford Cheetahs back in the glory days of Sky TV money and growing coverage. Used to really enjoy it every Friday night.

Watched some on BT Sport while I was back in the UK this summer and I have to say that the action was a bit rubbish, played out in front of what looked like 70 spectators.

It's all about the speedway GP's now Luke. The Polish one last weekend was pretty decent. Domestic UK speedway is dying, in part down to the people who run it being dinosaurs.
