Looks like he could be out the door very soon. Fulham are currently holding talks about Ranieri's future (or lack of) right now. No surprise to me. I thought he a was a poor appointment at the time. He's not a coach who can fix things, he's more someone that can keep a good squad going.
A drop in the ocean for their rich owner though......fair play rules may catch them out in the champ but again i think it's just a monetary fine ? Schurle only on loan of course.
Can’t believe they’re struggling so badly after hearing how strong they’d be on here all summer long. Many used their “strengthening” this summer as a stick to beat our own summer recruitment with. Guess it goes to show that smashing loads of money on well-known names like Mawson, Schurrle, Vietto etc doesn’t guarantee success. Wouldn’t be surprised to see us linked with Seri when they go down, perhaps as a Doucoure replacement.
Brendan Rodgers has shown interest in the Fulham job as he used to support them as a boy and it's his dream job.
It makes me glad the club doesn't listen to anything our fans suggest because most of us are clueless
I suspect Ranieri would have walked anyway but they are either looking for a long term manager who knows the Championship or hoping a new guy can produce a miracle? Big Sam is free isn't he?
Joker complained that he wasn't given a say in recruitment last summer. What has happened since he left suggests that he isn't the one who should have taken the blame
Apparently Ranieri is now favourite for the Roma job.. Not bad is it - sacked by Fulham one week then go and manage your boyhood team and one of the biggest sides in Italy.
Wonder what happens with his pay off from Fulham. Are they still obliged to pay him to the end of his contract if he gets a new job 2 weeks later?
His contract may stipulate the payment or they may have amicably agreed a payment. If there's no agreement and a possible dispute, any claim would be based on compensation for lost earnings which would be limited if he walked straight into another job.
Who knew hiring a head of recruitment who has no football qualifications or prior experience who also happens to be the chairmans son wouldn't work out? Especially alongside the large amount of incoming players. I liked most of Fulhams business in the summer (mostly Seri, Anguissa and Vietto) - but trying to gel that many new players was always going to be a challenge.
Yes agreed - for each of those listed there was a Schurle, Mawson, Rico, Chambers, Babel etc who was no real improvement on what they had and just made them that much more disjointed as they got used to eachother. Changing so many players just because you have the money and can be a recipe for disaster, just like Holloway's CP. Best move is to make 2-3 real quality additions like Wolves did.
