Cheap and easy way is to force the script to always search for an external file. It's emocotion code is :dancingbanana:

But as long as the external file exists, this works.

Morris was let go by Southampton and Charlton. You can see why.
    Too slow for this level.
Are we not getting a left back on loan from our Mother Club?

Surely we can just recall Estupinan from Brighton if we think he's good enough now.

Can’t believe we keep doing this. Another “lucky” win. All the small things keep going our way. Two shots and both are goals. Ball bouncing around our box but somehow is repelled. I don’t think we’ve probably deserved to have won an away game yet (including Preston), but we have ridden our luck and taken our chances.

This is why I’m not convinced about the team, but Ismael is without doubt the luckiest manager I think we’ve ever had.

That’s not to undervalue all the things he’s done. He’s made the team hard working and they do believe in themselves. The key margins keep dropping our way, but I’ve been around long enough to know that doesn’t last forever.

So smash and grab wins are satisfying, but I’m annoyed we weren’t losing and came back to score a last minute winner. Must try harder in that. :D

11 more points to safety now.

Alas I don't think he has enough money at least not for us to compete in the Premier league. Football's changed since our halcyon days. It seems Elton is worth about £400m but I presume some of that is tied down in assets. That's not enough dosh for him to buy the club and potentially run the club at a deficit whilst maintaining other commitments. Yeah he could get some mates with money to help but this is unlikely and still won't be enough to compete with big business and state owned clubs.

I think EJ should steer clear of investing as he's done enough for the club already. I'd be happy if he can just come to more games and be more involved in offering his opinions and raising our profile.

Not sure about getting a new left back. I thought we were in for a young left sided CB. Perhaps he can play as a full back too. Whatever the situation, we need to address this weakness.

Yeah. Not the most impressive performance, but it’s not really all down to luck, is it? It’s very lazy to reduce everything to good or bad luck.

If it’s down to good or bad luck, here’s another way of looking at it: QPR were lucky we didn’t have Sema, Kayembe, Lewis or Bayo available. And lucky that Kone was on the sub’s bench. Quite lucky to be able to welcome their best players Chair and Willock back from injury. They knew they were lucky to meet a Watford team that has all but lost their ‘star’ Moroccan player who tore them apart in August. So lucky, in fact, that it made them a plucky little outfit. (Quite Plucky Rangers)

Disagree on one point. We fully deserved to beat Swansea. Other than that, good points made. :)

We were 2nd best, but if you miss your chances like QPR did then you can't complain.

See Morris is the fall guy today for the Pozzo out brigade. We ALL know he's barely championship level, but he's 3rd choice for crying out loud, what do you expect from your 3rd choice full back! when Lewis or Sema are back one of them will be starting at LB

This team are real tryers, that can take you a long way in this league. There is also a lot of quality in this team. Apart from Livermore, it wasn't on display today, but we know it's there. i'm not convinced we will make the play offs but we certainly have the potential too. This makes for an exciting 2nd half of the season. As a fan, that's what I want right now.

Well, the Swansea game they had a perfectly good looking goal ruled out on 75 minutes. Most referees would not have disallowed that. Had that stood, we’d not have won and most likely would have lost. This is why I consider that a lucky win.

He must have a lot of rich friends though, becks / Eminem (apparently) , they all chip in £200m each, imagine the players we could attract:)

but yes, it comes across in the documentary how much he has invested in the club , money / time / love , I think there is something special about a club being run by a boyhood fan, rather than as money making venture

Hopefully all our injuries are short term, as there were at least 5 players not available today who could add significantly to our starting line up being Bayo, Kayembe, Lewis (much better than Morris), Kone (apparently unwell) and Sema. Get a couple of decent additions in the window and we can make the playoffs. However, if we do make the POs, I think we will struggle to compete with the stronger squads above us.

I agree there's something very special about that. I'd just hate to see him come back and for things to not work out (which could easily happen) and for him to start getting slagged off by some of our fans who aren't happy. What he did with GT was amazing, unique and is a cherished memory which I'd rather not see risked.

Throughout the game I was thinking about how poor the Championship can look. The quality wasn’t on show today. But I’m currently watching Villa at Everton. It’s woefully low on quality. Football is like that. Today we had one player who showed enough to make the difference. Have to be happy with that.

I knew you would come out with this after today's performance, and today, we did get away with one. I am not buying that we didn't deserve to beat Preston. We completely tore them to shreds in the second half. It's ridiculous to suggest that we didn't deserve to win this game. I went to Blackburn away, and admittedly, Hamer had a good match, although he arguably should have saved their goal at the front post. We edged that game, especially in the second half. The stats evidence this also. I think you also have to ride your luck away from home a bit and will undoubtedly come under pressure in the championship on the road and it is about standing up to that. I would argue that to win on the road requires decent mental strength and a cohesive squad and this is something that Ismail has installed in the side not through luck but good management.

Just back from Loftus Road. Enjoyed the result, hated the performance. Shout outs to Livermore and Hamer, obviously, but Chak was my MotM because he had the most positive attitude and worked very hard. QPR are going down.

QPR’s problems are not too dissimilar to ours, they looked decent enough in possession , quick going forward , got the ball in the box , but lack of flair with the final product, I dont think from a neutral point of view it would have been a bad game to watch, I have seen a lot worse , actually I have seen us play a lot lot worse

I don't know how many times this has now been pointed out but there's been an equal amount of games in which we were unlucky and deserved to win that we ended up dropping points in.

Before todays game we'd created 32.02 xG and scored 42 goals (meaning we've been lucky - scoring 10 goals more than we should've), whilst we've conceded 26.23 xG (the 4th lowest in the league!) yet have shipped 36 goals (meaning we've been unlucky - conceding 10 more than we should've). Our xG difference is 5.79 with an actual goal difference of 6.

We're pretty much exactly where we deserve to be, our luck in attack is perfectly balanced out by our unluckiness in defence.

Just being honest. Don't know why certain people get so offended by honesty. Hamer was MotM at Preston. It could so easily have been a big defeat, but the small things all went our way. At Blackburn, even though it was a tighter game, we scored 2 goals completely out of the blue. The same at Hull and the same today.

I'm delighted we've won these games, but it is an unusual situation. Ridding our luck defensively, then scoring every time we shoot on target. It's great, but I just don't trust it. It's a case of people just looking at the result rather than performance.

A great result considering the performance of players available. We were missing at least 5 of the first 11 and still got the 3 points. Healy is not a lone striker and to be honest i dont think he os a striker at all, more like an attacking midfielder. I like his work rate and he can hold the ball well, but as soon as he gets near the box his touch is poor and he doesnt have to the strength and gets outmuscled easily. I was hoping to see 2 up top but it totally compromised the team and we nearly lost the win.

Sorry....but I disagree. We've had far more good results than performances have merited. I do the eye test as these metrics do sway opinions and some people believe in it a little too much.

These metrics are a total. Meaning we could have beaten Rotherham 5-4 if they missed 4 'open goals', for a hypothetical example. It would show 4 goals not conceded in the metric, when they should have been scored, but we'd still have attained 3 points. It all depends when these good chances are missed, during which game, the score when chances are missed in the context of the match etc.

I think QPR's problem is they just can't score enough. We have scored double the amount of goals they have and only Leicester, Leeds, Southampton and Ipswich have scored more than us.

I think that’s what I am most encouraged about by Chakvetatze, his work rate. Haven’t seen that much of him this season, but he’s got enough to suggest he is an asset to the squad. Not a starter when others are available, but hats off to VI for showing a bit of faith in the boy.

There's a bit of derangement appearing here, it's in danger of reading like something you wrote because you wanted it to happen so you could complain about it, rather than what actually has. Morris was not good at all, but it hasn't even been mentioned that much, and what has that got to do with whether you're Pozzo out or not, anyway?

You yourself do also then go on to mention that you know he is not at the required level for this league, so it's an even stranger fist-waving!

I would probably question whether Sema actually counts as a 'choice' left back, also - I do not believe the stats and his useage to date under Val bear that out. He is our first choice winger, and seen and wielded as such. It's a bit dodgy to start inserting him in the left back order as an excuse - Morris clearly fits the bill of our back up full back on that side and is seen as such by Val.
