Seems like a good idea. Just cover your back re-copyright etc. ie, by entering you have the right to freely & show/distribute for the purposes of promoting the festival, however rights, responsibility & ownership of the film remain with the producer. That way you can't get sued for showing & distributing and you can't get sued if there's a copyright claim against the film.
