Isaac Success in every video completely battered after one Peroni. Rolling all over the place. It’s barely half past five. Fair play.
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=305627237669103 A lot more fun than the wfc promotion party yawnfest on youtube
Revolting, perhaps. But isn't it also fascinating to see the pond dwellers thriving in their natural habitat?
I know we’re in a slightly different phase of lockdown, but I seem to remember claims on the rangers thread after they won the title that our fans wouldn’t do the same? Yet here we are doing the same after clinching 2nd in the second tier. I have absolutely nothing against it by the way, just a comment that human nature is human nature, irrespective of which club a fan supports.
It's such a strange feeling today. We are promoted, but it seems......hush, hush and muted. Of course that's totally down to Covid and the lack of being able to share the moment. For me, that's a killer. We might even be crowned Champions, in an empty stadium after Swansea. How bitter-sweet would that be? This season is like one that never happened. If Bournemouth go up through the play offs, then the league will look very similar to the one we left. Only Leeds United would be an additional new team for us. I hope, by some way, we are all allowed back into stadiums next season. Football needs it's fans. Fans need their personal football fix. I've really missed it. I hate watching games without the supporters. I hate not being allowed to The Vic every other week. So for me, I'm delighted by promotion, but in terms of euphoria, it's probably the one that's registered the least. The way we went up last time, with the kick in the nuts against Sheff Wed was a huge disappointment and I felt I had to push myself to cheer. This time, there was no need to fake the celebration, but it was a virtual experience.....and I hope we get back to "normal" very soon.
Agree my overriding feeling is relief than euphoria yet one could argue this is our most important promotion ever. If we somehow pip Norwich to 1st I may re-evaluate. Also if the muff fail.
I agree with much of this. I have a great feeling of relief particularly as a failure to get promoted first time around could have resulted in a long spell in the wilderness but disappointing not being able to see and participate in post match celebrations. Shame for the players not coming into the town after the game and will there be an open top bus celebration? Its as if this season never happened.
It all seems too easy really, even in our last promotion season the string of results that got us promoted on that day were a bit of a surprise. The fact that it’s done and dusted with 2 games to go and zero drama is unusual and almost disconcerting.
Having been obsessed by Swansea Brentford Watford and Norwich for months ive come home from work today and thought what an earth is there to do. Although i feel like a big weight has been lifted.
And we were only out of the Prem for 271 days, which is probably a record* * thanks to someone on twitter for that stat
Just my opinion but anyone moaning about social distancing at this stage is unreasonable. The elderly and vulnerable have been vaccinated and, pub gardens, restaurants and shops are back open. Half the people on the video are under 30 and probably wouldn't have been impacted too much by COVID but have given up over a year of their lives at an age where they should be living and having fun, for the rest of society. Give them a break and let them have a bit of fun after the year we have had. I also understand peoples opinions about littering but the fact that a few cans are the concern shows that our fans mostly behaved well. I don't think many other clubs would have had such a peaceful cohesive celebration without police present.
Looking into it, I think Kabasele's t-shirt with "Local man is pleased" on was a dig at Bournemouth and in particular, Lerna: https://twitter.com/afcbournemouth/status/1366444454698180608
After their game on the weekend (after reading comments on the Brentford forum) if neither Brentford or Bournemouth go up, I can see those two becoming rivals next season and both will be an irrelevance to us.
The club are even selling these 'Local Man is Pleased' t-shirts in the Hornet Shop. ADULT LOCAL MAN TEE (thehornetsshop.co.uk)
I was told if Bournemouth don't get promoted, they'll bring out another range.......'Local Man is Delighted'
