Playing our “brothers” in Pre season. https://mobile.twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1400044526425808898
Some nice looking fixtures. Good to see some Football Manager philosophy in playing teams we’ve done transfers with. Nantes - Louza, Stevenage - Wilmot, West Brom - Johnstone, Udinese - Geri and De Paul.
Or it could be a round robin tournament with Us; Udinese and two different guest teams each year. We could host the tournament on alternate years with Udinese hosting one year and us the next.
What if he plays the first half for Udinese, before coming out in a Watford shirt in the second with a piece of paper and pen stuffed down his socks.
I like the fact they all teams of a good standard, Steveneage aside, so we will get properly tested, as much as you can in a pre season friendly
Set your alarms for forum meltdown, 24 July, 2 pm when the first team news is announced. Bedwetting to such a degree there may be a weather warning of flash flooding in Herts.
Add to the fixtures the U23's are away at Chesham Utd on 16th July, St Albans City on 27th July and Hemel Hempsted Town on 3rd August.
Should be 12 points from these games. Need to play our strongest 11 though, no resting players ffs Xisco.
So no Nantes or Udinese . Barnsley and Palace instead - is the latter ever friendly ? First team beat the Under 23s earlier. https://mobile.twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1413845711666524167
Palace fans not happy! Maybe Zaha won't be there by then... And as one fan works out Capoue has left and guess they mean Holebas? https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/07/...us-about-club-announcement-involving-watford/
We will be playing Colchester United, with Hayden Mullins as their manager, on Saturday at the training ground. I like what the club are doing, inviting professional clubs to give them a match in a training ground environment. Millwall and now Colchester. It's a very good idea. I suppose it's replacing the training camp in Austria, which we couldn't do for obvious reasons. Lots of clubs are stuck in the UK and are receptive to playing clubs in a more "casual" type of fixture. I would imagine Watford are quite an attractive opponent for any club outside of the top tier.
