matthew spring and sam parkin fron th pikeys, billy sharp from southend, alan thompson (ex celtic) from leeds(just for a year though).
Surely we dont want springy back maybe if we pay half the price we sold him for :cool1: Is sam parkin not the one that decided to ditch us and we got King instead? Billy Sharp im pretty sure is a scunthorpe player. Thompson may be alright but only as you say a squad bolstering player IMO.
Thompson is well past it, would rather see us go for David Thompson who's available on a free whilst Sam Parkin turned out to be fat, slow and injury prone and we should be counting our lucky stars we didn't get him when we tried. Spring won't be coming back. Sharp will cost alot and i'd rather see us spend the cash on Earnshaw.
Spring also now looks fat and slow and cominbined with Alan Thompson the only thing they would bolster would be the local pie trade. Parkin has a dodgy ankle - broken it twice in two year I believe. Wouldn't touch him with a bargepole and his rejection and subsequent move to Lootown have seen to him in my book. Sharp I'd take.
I also agree with that, though Thompson is a good set piece taker - something we lack, there are better options available.
We're struggling for set pieces IMO.... Stewarts very hit and miss.. maybe Rinaldi could fit the bill in that area....
Struggling! I can only think of two well worked set pieces in the whole of last season. We were sh1te at it all season whenever we got a chance to put the ball in the box from a corner or free kick we hit the first defender gave it to the keeper or over shot the lot for a throw in or goal kick. IMO ban Smith and JS from any summer holidays until they can cross a ball to one of our players
It must be said that even Ash was struggling on the set-piece front before he departed. A very disappointing season for us in that respect.
we dont want to bolster the squad we want players in who are better than the ones we have now as syrely if this team didnt cut it this year they wont when we return and hence squad bolstering would be foolish i also 5th the opinion on set pieces dreadful
