Hello! Read some of your posts about your trip to ours and thought i'd offer some info that might be of use. Firstly and most importantly, drinking! There is only 1 pub close to the ground and that is the Britannia. This place nearly always allows away fans in and is a decent size, although as you can imagine it gets packed, pretty friendly in there as a rule though though. There are other pubs 15 - 20 minutes walk away and there is the Penney which you will pass if your walking from the train station (which i guess is unlikely). The infamous Embassy club is across the road from the Britannia and is best avoided although it certainly aint as bad as it used to be. Other than that if you've got time visit the Hoe (if the weather is good) and the Barbican, this is the old harbour area and has loads of good pubs and bars and the legendary Cap'n Jaspers! I can also recommend the Barbican for a good night out (low on the chavometer). Mutley Plain is also good (lots of pubs). Union Street is chav central and is the place that in the past especially, gave a night out in Plymouth a bad name. The upper end is better though and it does have a couple of strip joints. nowhere in plym is low on the chavometer!!!! although i agree its better than union st. and also you cant miss cap'n jaspers!!
