Oppo Forum: https://pasoti.co.uk/forums/plymouth-argyle-fans-forum.30/ Can I just pre-date this was the comment that I love Plymouth's home kit. Green and gold is a beautiful combination of colours and they have one of the most unique badges in the Championship. Anyway, after we battled hard with 10 vs 12 men on Friday for a well earned point during the "worst referee of the universe" show, we travel to Home Park tomorrow for the very first game of the new year as we visit Plymouth and try to put a dent in their almost perfect home record. Not many sides have gone to Plymouth this season and left with three points, a point alone is more than a graft for half of this division's teams. If their away form was half as good they would be hunting down the playoffs already. Being a newly promoted side, they alongside Ipswich have certainly not let the level of difficulty overcome them. Having won League One last season they have made their home venue somewhat of a fortress. You would also have to go quite far back for Watford's last victory away at Plymouth - the FA Cup when we were still a PL side and a 1-0 victory thanks to a rather super show from a young and less man-child Ben Foster to keep us ahead having scored quite early. League fixture wise, it's the Boothroyd era on a clear sunset evening and we battled back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with a then quite unknown Ashley Young making himself a cult hero overnight. Memory serves that was our second game of the 05/06 season having lost to PNE at home 1-2 on the opening day. So with Bayo missing and Lewis and Sema.. (god) we travel with a hopefully patched up Healy and the Bog Owl as our only outlets for goals. Plymouth scrambled a 0-0 at our place back in August but I do not expect such a score line again. Tough to break down at home and tighter at the back, we are going to have to be on our A game to get anything here. This is a tough fixture, make no mistake about it and considering the majority of the first team will probably earn a weeks rest due to the FA Cup next weekend, it would be nice to gain another point or three before that happens. I think due to our current spite of injuries and suspensions, going away (it's a nine hour round trip for fans) to Plymouth is going to be even harder for us. Plymouth 3 Watford 1
Good shout, but a bit overly optimistic. No way do we score a goal. This one will be messy. We know our players like to party, as Boxing Day proved. Half of them will be hungover. Plymouth will be professional though, just as Bristol were, and this could be the biggest defeat of the season for us. I predict our GD will be wiped out in this game.
Have I told the story of meeting his mum on a train ? She proudly mentioned her son played for Plymouth and was proud as punch when I said "Not the legendary Fred Binney?".. Must win game. PAFC 2 WFC 1
Ordered two tickets last week and they haven't been delivered. I just spoke to my mate and he has had the same problem. The Watford ticket office is closed. Does anyone know whether I'll be able to sort this out in Plymouth tomorrow?
Excellent! Have I told you when I sat next to GT on the Circle Line,or District? I was going to Queen's Club. Never met GT's mother...
Same. It's ridiculous - bought before Christmas... sent an email yesterday and not had any reply. Is it worth trekking down... 3-0 'orns if I don't , 2-0 Plymouth if I get in.
It might be worth contacting Plymouth's ticket office and see if they partake in PotD (Pay On The Day) tickets. Some clubs do whereas others do not. As you are asking from the visiting team, it's possible they might be able to help.
I've just been sent this. Seems that the best option is to go to the ticket office in Plymouth tomorrow.
I am in Plymouth already, as a sort of advanced guard. I note there are no buses running tomorrow. And, if you’re in the prawn sandwich brigade, M&S is closed too.
I am in the same boat too, only just realised They haven’t arrived! I assume by showing them the email and ID they can reissue. Or, the club hasn’t sent them and they are at Plymouth waiting for collection
I am available to play RB if required. However don't expect me to head the ball as ideally I need to keep my glasses on.
It will always have a special significance for anyone who attended Francis Bacon School in St Albans.......
So... Plymouth form at home: 6th P 12 W 7 D 2 L 3 GF 30 GA 19 GD +11 Pts 23 Watford form away: 11th P 11 W 4 D 3 L 4 GF 14 GA 15 GD -1 Pts 15 Conclusion: Attack!!! Attack Attack Attack!!! Happy New Year, All Keep the Faith SCG
Oh I do believe we can get a result, yet I have this horrible feeling we'll fall asleep for 10 minutes and concede 3. I'm also terrible at predictions...
We need to start a bit more awake than we have done in the last few away games - but I think if we can get through the first 10-15 minutes unscathed then it's going to be easier to be good fun. Should be a good atmosphere all round (until Rajovic scores our 5th of the first half) and then in the second half the floodgates will open. Plymouth 8-9 Watford, 2 red cards each for the hell of it, and at least three pitch invaders (of which at least one will be active on the forum ) Or else... A more normal game which we nick 2-1
I should add for any Plymouth security team members reading this - I'm not going to the game tomorrow
