I agree with all that, we will sign players and he will clear out the dead wood, probably even some players that have been first team regulars at some point.
We do need: A g/k, Right back, winger (one who can play both sides), maybe also a quality Centre Back and midfielder.

 

How about someone who can score goals? I know Marlon is coming back, but he can't do it on his own, may get injured again, may not have the same form again etc.

Also, using Reading is a bad example. Like he says, they had built a side over 5 years, ready for the Prem. We have not brought in any Premiership quality players.

 

I think we only struggle with goals because no one create chances, you can't expect the strikers to create chances with no support. I have no doubt that King, Hendo, Priskin and Hoskins, maybe also Kabba (if he is still here) will score goals if they are supplied the ball. It's our distribution that has let us down as much as anything.

 

I agree with definitely needing a g/k, right back, winger and maybe a quality centre back (one with pace who can pass), though I also agree with wfcmoog that I would also like someone who can score goals. With Williams, Bouazza, Smith, Rinaldi, Cavalli and another winger we should hopefully have people who can create chances from midfield.

However, failing that we need to remember that last season a lot of our goals were ones where King had been given awful service all game, then just managed to make a goal out of nothing all by himself. I would still like to make sure that we have someone who has that extra edge just in case.

 

There are some seriously good arguements against me on here and fair play to UEA and others for voicing them.

I dont agree though that we're going down a strong side... there are far too many players on our books we are holding out on in the hope that they suddenly get better or become world beaters

Probably none of them will.

We've gotta ask ourselves the same question that we asked at the beginning of the season and thats who can really cut it at a higher level?

This season has been a money making excercise pure and simple..... exactly how much money can we rake in while spending the minimum possible?

Everything since August has been spin and nothing less.... The whole Collins John fiasco was simply diabolical. If we had just offered him the going rate, he'd be here!

Aidy at the beginning of the season said he'd take leaves out of Wigans and Boltons and Charltons books... Well i cant see how.

Theyve all invested in proven prem quality players to keep them up (along with unknowns).... WE buy a couple of chaps from ROTHERHAM, Sheff utds FIFTH choice striker, some "yoot" who used to have potential...

To rub salt in, we lose Ash (and no one can complain after the money we got for him) THEN SPENT F***ALL OF IT!

THEY KNEW IN OCTOBER / NOVEMBER THAT SOMEONE WOULD COME IN FOR HIM.... SEEING AS THEY DIDNT CAPTURE ANY BIG NAMES IN THE SUMMER THEY HAD TIME TO MAKE DAMN SURE THEY WOULD GET SOMEONE IN

Instead they hand out trials to about 400 waifs and strays in the hope they hit another jackpot.

Whats to say that a couple of directors F*** off in the summer taking "their" money with them plus a little interest.

who could we spend it on? that ash money is currently tucked away for a rainy day, and as the post-****** days will show us, at the moment it's only spitting.
