From what I heard on the radio: Foster 7. Mariappa 6 Stewart 6 Demerit 7 Mackay 8 Smith 7 Cavalli 7 Mahon 7 Francis 6 Hendo 10 Kabba 8 Subs: Ashikodi 7 Bangura 6 Shittu 0 No time.
That last ditch block from Tevez after it looked certain to be going in 8 minutes into the second half was superb, he almost deserves a 9 for that alone Smith was good again - OK his crosses weren't the most threatening but he managed to beat the West Ham defence on a few occasions and worked very hard for the team, including an important block near the corner flag late in the game - so much for him not tracking back eh... I think Stewart deserves a higher mark, I wasn't very impressed with him last Saturday, but as well making some vital interceptions to stop West Ham getting any decent crosses in on their right, his distribution was much improved and for once he actually took some decent corners. All in all, a fine battling TEAM performance (much like the FA Cup game, but better) with the side passing and keeping the ball far better than last week and looking like they wanted this result more than West Ham, added to a bit of good fortune which we had sorely missed this season going into this game. It may not be enough to keep us up, but it's good to see a return in recent weeks of the Watford we know and love and let's hope last week was just an aberration. Roll on Ipswich and our next three home games and let's make it five in a row!
