As expected, he's had a total of 7 minutes on the pitch from the 4 matches hes been available for. 3 games on the bench, came on 2 times, left out once
Yes but £5m will look like a bargain in a year's time. Remember we beat all the big clubs to his signature and moved vydra to reading as he would be behind this guy. All time worst buy ? Hope we sacked whoever was responsible.
There was a time when Watford fans were supportive and encouraging towards young players. Long since gone now though. Some of the mockery towards him last season was pathetic. Even if it takes him 4 years to realise whatever potential the club saw in him he'll still only be 22. And if doesn't so what? £5m was £1m a decade ago. It's peanuts at this level.
So which bit of my post do you disagree with ? Valid as a back up striker last year ? With his game time so far do you he will develop this year? Do you think it's panned out as they hoped ?
That's fine. You think he was a good buy and it's all going to plan. I don't. We are all entitled to have a different opinion.
I've not seen nearly enough of him to draw any conclusions yet. And I have no idea what the plan was with him although I guess we can assume by virtue of the fact he loitered around the squad last season that the aim was to incorporate him. Clearly that failed. My sole point here is simply to say he's young and not responsible in the slightest for the price paid for him. Patience costs nothing and used to be a big thing at Watford. Now it seems to be all about a race to write players off ASAP.
Not sure people are angry with the player as such. The fact is we paid a significant amount of money for a player who seemingly wasn't up to U21 standard last season so it seems reasonable to question whoever sanctioned and encouraged the signing. Hopefully I will be proved wrong about him.
ZW playing Genk today. Oulare is on the bench, ZW only playing with 1 striker so i dont think he'll see much game time
