From When He Signed For Rangers...

They Describe him as the next "Nacho Novo", which is good i suppose, but cant be too correct because they wouldnt have sold him if he's the next big thing.

    Hislop hails Rangers' new signing

Moses Ashikodi was involved in a bust-up at Millwall
New Rangers signing Moses Ashikodi is a younger version of Nacho Novo, according to the 18-year-old's former Gillingham team-mate, Steven Hislop.
The England Under-19 striker has been signed until the end of the season after being released by West Ham Utd.

And Hislop, who has signed for Livingston, said: "He never got much of a chance down at Gillingham.

"But he's got frightening pace and an eye for goal. I would compare him to Nacho Novo."

Nigeria-born Ashikodi started his career at Millwall and became the Lions' youngest player when he made a substitute appearance against Brighton in 2003 aged just 15 and 240 days. He's young and he'll do silly things

    Livingston striker Steven Hislop

He moved to West Ham in August 2004 before joining Neale Cooper's Gillingham on loan and featured for Rangers' reserves in their 2-1 win over Motherwell on Monday.

"There's no doubt he's definitely got potential," said Hislop, who thought his youth and lack of experience counted against him at Gillingham.

"It might take a while for Moses to settle into Scottish football and he may not be a first choice right away, but he will cause problems for teams when he comes off the bench."

Ashikodi hit the headlines for the wrong reasons nearly two years ago as a 16-year-old.

He was suspended from Millwall after allegedly pulling a knife on team-mate Mark McCammon after a training-ground row between the two players had carried on to the canteen.

But Hislop put the incident down to youthful impetuosity, adding: "He is hot headed. He's young and he'll do silly things, but he's got something and he'll cause problems for teams.

Good news i suppose, seems quick and goal-hungry. Id like to think that due to his huge inexperience he will be back-up. He is definately one for the future, however depending on how he develops i think we will see him this season :)

Can't wait to see him play, if he's a fast as they say he is then ;D ;D

Do you think he's fast because he used to be a thug, considering the knife incident ;);D

Good point- Agbonlahor has lightening pace and his change of position has done him wonders, you never know if Ashikodi is fast enough with a good crossing ability, he could be cover or starting on the wings, out wide of midfield. :)
