Again. You're a strange kettle-of-fish. You post some very good, well-written and considered stuff. And then do the silly Trolly bit. Beats me. Stick to the former and we won't have an issue. The Stealer's Wheel spot was quite good though ...

A new contract is always beneficial to the club. It strengthens their bargaining position when they go to sell. Although not in this particular case.

I have been told Odious is doing a live locker clearout on snapchat, and we are all invited.

I hope he stays. Is always fit and available for selection; scored as many as Okaka and unlike the latter can stand up most of a game. Better than Sinclair; scored more than Success; more goals and assists than Amrabat. When was the last time we had a £20 million striker in the squad? We only got £8 million for Vydra and less than half of that for Forestierri. If he stays he can contribute, and played most of the games that had us 7th after 15 games played this season. He had a purple patch in 2014/15, and has not maintained that form, but he is a good player worthy of a squad place for the next 16 games

I hope he goes. Purely because of the transfer fee and the fact that I think he needs a change of scenery. But I do find it totally baffling why so many on here have short memories and seem to have a high-level of hate on him. I get that most of it is just pointless trolling but it verges on vitriol with absolutely no basis. The guy had tragic family circumstances for a few months and thats been coupled with a lack of confidence. Nothing more, nothing less. Its better if he leaves in the circumstances but I cannot be convinced that he is not so much better than Okaka and/or Sinclair.

Yes. But if you are trying to encourage a player to leave so you can cash in on him then offering an improved 5 year contract probably isn't going to help in that regard. From memory he already had several years left on his deal at the time. Anyway I think now is the time to sell and I think the previous offer didn't happen simply because the player didn't want to leave. I wish Ighalo well if he does move. Like others though I don't think Okaka is any better and we live in hope about Niang.

I actually think Wally has been a factor in his terrible play. Virtually every player from last season has seen a decline under WM. Iggy was on a poor run 2nd half of last season but he didn't look so utterly useless as he does now. He's a hateful figure out on the pitch, raping the ball and murdering attacks.

I think he'll bloom elsewhere again

Didn't Iggy's form collapse when he was with Granada - before he came to us?

Perhaps you can also explain it by comparing him to a plucky but limited team who have been promoted from the championship to the Premiership. Often they will carry the good form from the previous season into the premier league for a few months, but eventually their ability catches up with them and they turn to sh*t. Iggy was sensational in the championship from the New year, and continued that through from August to the following December, and then we all know what happened.

The money is only worth it if it's reinvested

Iggy going only benefits us if he's replaced

I disagree, this time last year, then yes but he has been so poor the last year with no signs of improving he will only continue to drop in value. I saw a stat that since 01/01/16 he's score 3 from 81 shots in the PL. We can bank the money for the summer and pick a new striker carefully then.

I love Iggy and really do hope he gets his mojo back but I can't see it happening with us and his value will only drop and drop.

China is becoming like the Arab league for picking up over inflated transfers isn't it. Remember Asamoah Gyan leaving Sunderland for crazy money a few years ago?

They are a bit a like we buy any car for flogging dodgy motors, except they give you 4 times the value rather than half.

Also don't agree the money has to be reinvested straight away. Getting of Iggy is like gaining a player anyway, he puts at a 1 man disadvantage every time he plays.

If he does not go today - given the 28th Feb window close in China - just means that the clubs in China will have month without **** face Pulis sticking his cap in

He was never in form at Granada when they were in the top flight. He scored the most goals when they were in the 3rd division, which says it all. His goal record was never exemplary.

Regardless of our differing views on his ability, surely we can all agree that we should not be loaning him to any PL club that is in a similar position in the table to us?

If he wants to leave, he should be told in no uncertain terms that it is China, or any PL club that wants to match the Chinese bid.

If he really thinks that Rondon at 32.5m is ridiculous (too little) how can he baulk at just over half that for Ighalo

Palace on loan would be a joke, a team in a similar league position to us! Why strengthen a team in the drop zone!

    .

I wouldn't worry about that, my concern would be that by the end of the season with palace who are just at terrible at scoring as us, that £37.5m that is now £20m will be closer to £10m. A loan has zero benefit.

Unless the loan fee is £10m. That's what I'd be asking if I were Scott D for that very reason.

It makes no sense to loan him to anyone, when he have a £20m permenant deal on the table.

As I said in an earlier post the only deals I would consider other than China, is a straight swap for big Ben Foster with WBA, or at least £20m from any other club.

His price is depreciating faster than the Mexican Peso at the moment.
