I've solved the problem of not being able to log in by moving to another computer. How long before this one develops the same problem?
Do a Google search for CCleaner, download it and use it everytime you come off the internet. Works a treat
Just go to the tools option on your IE browser and delte the cookies in options... lots easier and less clogging of useless programs. Cookies should be regularly cleaned anyway as they are a drain on system resources and can also cause harm to your system.. plus thats all cc cleaner will do anyway.
I know... but there are ways of doing what it does that makes it somewhat redundant.. ie disk clean up... does the same and more. Its just another one of those programs that people have created that make things easier for the novice computer user, learning how to get round using these programs makes life alot easier in the long run.
Pleased to see it's working OK this morning. I think I caused the problem myself by never logging out when I left, just closing IE, so the cookies (whatever they are) never cleared. Don't do what I did children. Let that be a warning to you!
I never log out... no need. however if its a shared computer its in your interests too. The cookie that holds the login details is not in itself harmful but others are.. and it is likely it was another one that had effected things for you. I have problems with this puter at times logging into the poker site i frequent and tend to have to clear my cookies in order to get in... but that i have found is actually down to panda antivirus... sees the site program as a viral threat.
I've had this a couple of times now, and I'm assuming it's because I'm logging in and out with a couple of accounts, (I have a test account without admin or mod powers). Do a search on the PC for wfcforums. You'll find a cookie called something like afanof@wfcforums[2] or something similar. Delete it, close any open IE pages and start up IE again. Sorted. A cookie is ONLY written if you tick the remember me check box when you login, saves you logging in every time. Why it gets upset now and again I have no idea, (yet).
i have a theory that all cookies are written by l***n fans as a way of venting their frustrations about us being in the premiership... but then again i blame luton fans for everything.
