Nigel Pearson - Sacked

Regardless of recent performances Pearson has done a good job overall given where we were. It's obvious there are broader problems with the squad (ageing, unbalanced, lack of recruitment particularly in defence) beyond the coach. To sack him anyway but especially at this time is a really poor decision.

 

Can this be merged with the Pearson Out thread?

 

A large section of the fan base will forgive him anyway. We are toothless as a set of fans. And he, along with Duxbury etc know it.

 

Deeney has decided because its his club he will now manage it as well as captain it and play #9

 

Gives Lee Johnson a couple of games to know the players before his Championship campaign next season with us.

 

Why? There is literally no evidence to suggest Mullins can achieve this.

 

So we pay off Nigel instead of getting rid of him for free in a week's time when his contract comes to an end. Gino must have a REALLY good reason.

 

Must have been a huge fallout of some sort.
With Gino/Giraldi?
Or the players rebelling?
Something big has happened ...

This feels a lot different to usual knee jerk reaction.

Not fussed about staying up now. This is not how a business should be operated and the owners deserve relegation

He’s probably got a moral code that won’t allow it but I would just LOVE some truth from Pearson in a “reveal all” interview or book.

We haven’t had an English manager to really explain what it’s like to be “Head Coach” under Gino, I’d be intrigued to hear his views.

I can’t believe we’ve done this. Unless Pearson did something unforgivable behind the scenes, it’s batshit.

I’m very tempted to stop showing an interest until the Pozzos **** off. What was once a proud community club has become a total embarrassment. This season’s been painful but I’ve reached my tipping point now. **** them.

 

Supporters need to be vocal about getting Giraldi out. They won't be though. Bunch of happy clappers.

 

My only possible explanation is that he was told he wouldn’t be staying beyond the end of the season either way (which would be a stupid thing to do) and he was possibly going through the motions/deliberately making bad decisions because he couldn’t give two ****s. It maybe culminated in some big bust up and he was shown the door.

Something hasn’t been right since the restart.

Deeney not returning with the rest of the squad - whilst understandable, he’s captain. It’s unsettling for sure. Second best for large parts of every game since the restart with apathetic tactics. Foster and Hughes have both alluded to things not being right behind the scenes.

Friday night was just bizarre. Just not up for it whatsoever and I believed then that Pearson knew he wasn’t staying.

 

If it’s Mullins and Stack I’m so confused by that call? Have we accepted relegation or the sheer arrogance of Gino still thinks we will be ok?

I know they don’t think Mullins is a managerial genius in the making otherwise they would’ve just given him the job in the first place.

Apparently it was Giraldi that informed Pearson and Shakespeare this morning

Happy with the decision and in particular the timing of it. Always keep your enemies confused.

It has to be something like you say Sahorn, because surely Gino is not that stupid or is he Especially with the news breaking in the middle of a match in which one of our main rivals for the fight against relegation are currently losing 1-0.

This news must surely give Muff a big incentive to fight back knowing one of their main rivals are in such a state of disarray?
