It does look like he’s gone out of his way to give Femenía a place still. Pereyra ‘up front’ when we have an abundance of actual strikers is bizarre. Peñaranda and especially Quina deserve at least a spot on the bench. Janmaat on the wrong side - is that so he plays badly and Javi has his excuse to continue to leave him out?
Fans opinion can only be drawn from the games they see. The coaches have training sessions and fitness data. Javi’s main explanation/concern after Wet Spam was low energy. Holebas in particular has looked poor and lacking in zip in the heat. Capoue tried hard and then folded in the last 20 mins. I reckon this is both fitness and tactics based. We will I am sure see Sarr and Gerry later. The plan will be to contain and then stretch.

One thing is for sure, Bruce would not have expected that line up or formation. Last season when Javi pulled these surprises we were all made to look silly after coming away with a win. It's all very well having a strong bench, but Gracia has always been poor at using subs - they should be used proactively rsther thsn reactively; you don't wait until you're 3-1 down with only 15 minutes left, as he did against West Ham.
