Hi there, As this is my first post on this board I would like to give a warm welcome to all members of this board. The reason I signed in is that a cousin of mine has agreed terms to join Watford FC. Jure Travner is a former Slovenian U21 international and played in first Slovenian division for the past few years. A day ago he passed his medical at Watford FC and has now agreed terms to join the club. He is 23 years old, left footed player that usually plays as a left back but can also play as central defender or left midfield. There is also a compilation on him on Youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRE_xPxogiA So there you have it a first Slovenian in Watford FC As I was not following Watford FC that closely in the past (except to some degree when you were in EPL a couple years back - I'm a Manchester United fan for the last 15 years) I don't know that much about the club. I know some players that were with you before (Buazza, Marlon King) and some that play here now (Priskin, Demerit etc.) but could you shed some light on me what kind of a squad does Watford FC have? The strong points, the weak spots etc. Yesterday I got to watch a replay of Watford - Tottenham from 08 season I think (I think it was Carling cup - Priskin scored with a quality shot on some 15 minutes) and Watford played very well. Do you know what fee was paid for him and how long the contract is? Who negotiated the terms of the contract, was it the wfc Chairman Jimmy Russo or the manager Malky Mackay? Previous, previous, previous manager (if including MM as interim) went on a euro trip scouting for players - maybe this one was left on the radar - maybe.
He doesnt look to shabby! wouldnt mind seeing him have a go on the LW as he looks good on the ball and his end product can't be any worse than McAnuff's! Would be sad to see Doyley lose his place at LB after last season!
Another left fullback who can play in midfield? Not a natural left wing it seems. Could be another Jon Harley - which isn't too bad. Could be another Avinel as well I suppose.

Always good to have backups. Doyley did brilliantly at leftback last season, and looking at our squad we have Harley and Sadler who can also play left back. If we get another left back in we'll have 4. This leads me to believe that Jay is leaving.That would shift Mariappa into the center alongside Willo and Doyley out to right back. MacAnuff leaves and Harley moves into left midfield. Travner then plays left back and all is well... Easy Peasey. P.O.N!

Yes I think he will travel with the team to spain. I will of course support WFC, but not at the expense of MUFC Regarding the fee I haven't got a clear info as his former club has a ******** for president and he was trying to milk him and the new club as much as he could. He mentioned he had some help in sealing the deal from some people associated with Watford (from Sweden if I remember correctly, that originated from Serbia) don't know who sealed the deal though. As I understand he signed initially a 2 year deal that based on his appearances could rise to 4 year deal automatically if he plays a certain quota of games. Regarding a quality of the team he played in I can say that in Slovenia the first league is quite physical, and some players are quite good technically (for example Nejc Pecnik that just left Celje too) the thing teams lack in my opinion is urgency, concentration and tactical awareness also there is organizational problem with most clubs as they are not properly run. e.g. people running the clubs looking just to maximize their profit and don't care to much about the well being of the club. Also recession hit some of them very hard (NK Celje amongst them as their major sponsor was a building company). Regarding online games I will join them surely Also I will come to UK to see some Championship and Premier League games live before the end of the year.

he is not a natural left back. Jordan Stewart is more of a left back than LD. I like LD and he did do well enough, but it doesn't inspire me having him there. How many goals did we concede last season?
Actually UEA the two year deal sounds right based on the other new board signings. looks like the board are doing a two year plan not five as JW quoted, hoping they shine in the first year and flog em in the 2nd before the contract runs out. Bizi - can your cousin speak English? - your English is better than most on here. We had a Spanish player called Sietes here a few years ago - he couldn't speak English and this song sums up his career at wfc. Sietes, wooooh Sietes, wooooh He came from sunny Spain he never got a game Sietes, wooooh Funnily enough he was a left back as well and I was lucky enough to see him play in a pre season friendly in Denmark that season.
Pecnik and Gobec at Celje are internationals. Travner has not yet been called up . Is he not good enough. I would not mind having a seasoned international a la Koren, Cesar but this looks a mite risky. Of course I hope it works out well. And welcome aboard Bizi (don't like the Manure supporting bit gloryhunting etc etc) to you and the land of Anze Kopitar.
