http://www.football365.com/mediawatch/0,17033,8749,00.html Rumour Of The Day 'The decision to dock AFC Wimbledon 18 points for fielding an ineligible player has put the FA under the spotlight to adopt the same draconian standards with struggling West Ham. FA rules on the fielding of ineligible players state categorically that a club 'shall be deducted' the number of points they gained while the laws were being breached' - The Daily Mail. Could West Ham be more doomed? Not seen this mentioned anywhere today, I doubt it would happen, but I wonder whether that would benefit or worsen our overall position? (obv we'd move up a place). I assume the points would go to the teams they played?! Anyone know how they've done against Charlton, Wigan, Sheffield, and Man City?
Here they are - Wow 18 points! i dont think the other teams dont get the points, it would help, probably wont happen to a big club though
They just get deducted points. But the issue is 100% mirky in the first place. It's all around whether Tevez is owned by a company, in which case breaking the rules.
I didn't realise they were miles ahead when the points were deducted - wow - how great, they gain promotion with an 18 point deduction hope they do it.
the points definately have not been deducted as Lendal said. It does seem a very harsh penalty as they had a very good chance of going up this year before hand. i would expect the appeal to be successful to some extent in that they will get a reduction to perhaps a fairer 10
