My Day Out In West Ham

Started at 10.30 AM with a brisk walk to the underground in downtown Northwood, with only two platforms at the Station even I managed to find the one pointing towards Baker Street. Got a bit bored waiting for the train so I decided to re tie the laces on my lovely yellow boots. Once the train arrived I naturally stepped into it and chose the best seat I could find.

Uneventful journey but a good time to read the paper, as the train passed Wembley my eyes were distracted from page 3 to the Stadium being built and started to think the unthinkable, we are still in the cup so it is possible, train departs and Wembley fades into the distance, straight back to page 3.

I safely arrive in Baker Street and make my way to Witherspoon's pub to enjoy a nice pint in peace. As soon as got into the Pub I was greeted by a fellow 'orn said hello and ordered my pint, as I ordered my pint I felt my personal space being invaded, as I turned around the fellow 'orn was in my face, to put it politely he wasn't all there and I had been chosen to be his new friend. "Can I join you", "eh I suppose though" I replied. After a few pleasantries I had another excuse to get back to page 3. "You can buy me a Pint now" my new friend said to me "Sorry", "you can buy me a pint now" he repeated, I bit the bullet and thought the only way to get rid of this parasite is to get my hands into my deep pockets.

Sat back down at the table and luckly some familar faces turned up, at least now I can share my new friend I cunningly thought, my plan worked and I was able to have a normal conversation with the normal crew.

Time to leave for the ground on our wonderful underground system.

This is part 1, more to follow when I can be arsed, but getting as bored as you are probably reading this drivel.

    Bye bye

Had that when going to the league game at Palarse last season, after foolishly acknowledging a fellow orn on the platform at Hemel he then proceeded to try and follow myself and my cousin all the way to the ground.
Some tactical walking prevented him from keeping up.

    I feel for you Birdy.

Have to say there are some old jobs who follow Watford around. This isn't a **** bashing thread but there are some right drooling loonies you see about the place. There's one in particular who always seems to turn up wherever I am, see him in the mirrors everywhere. Oh wait...

I met Birdy, Paddy and Big Russ in the Wetherspoons as well. I assumed the very odd Hornet was a mate of Birdy's when he said "You can buy me a pint" as I was at the bar. This chap was well worth a cab fare to Upton Park to avoid.

Our journey back was somewhat more eventful. Having walked to the end of the queue for Upton Park tube, some 600 m from the station, Paddy, Big Russ and I decided to carry on walking to Plaistow. When we got there, the queue to get in to that tube was enormous as well. We hadn't seen a single minicab office on the way, so were about to go in to the pub opposite the tube, The Railway Tavern. It was about 2 miles from Upton Park, so we thought it would probably be safe to go in there and ask the landlord to call us a cab. It was a dark night, but luckily we noticed the hammers symbol with "ICF" daubed in blue aerosol paint next to the entrance. I am sure that if we had gone in, if they were feeling charitable, the best we could have hoped for was them to call an ambulance afterwards ... :(

We had some of the ICF lads on our train - they just stared at me (was wearing a watford jacket) like I'd just insulted their mother of something.

I thought people paid to watch the game? Or is that naiveity?
