Goodbye Stake, and hello MrQ. Unfortunately another gambling company. https://www.watfordfc.com/news/club/official-watford-fc-mrq-announce-new-partnership
“The multi-year agreement represents a record-breaking deal for an EFL club.” While we’ll have to hold our nose about gambling, Stake seemed particularly dodgy with some of their crypto stuff and this is a local business. Impressive also to secure a record breaking deal (though I assume that by record it does not mean the highest amount/year but rather highest aggregate amount given that it is a ‘long-term deal’)
Good. We can give all the lovely sponsorship money straight to mogey bayonet for some reason and take out another loan
And with Q being the 17th letter of the alphabet, this incidentally joins up with Valérien Ismaël as the 17th Watford manager under the pozzos*. Unconfirmed reports suggest the shirts will be adorned with Mr T by March 2024 however it's understood that BA Baracus has ruled himself out for the job already. *This is probably not true!
I always wonder when clubs come out with things like 'biggest deal ever for an EFL club' how they know for sure.
I’d have thought it might be possible to glean from reviewing accounts, but that’d take a lot of work just for that one sentence.
Club is finally listening to the fans and getting more ingrained with the community….by only ruining local lives instead
Based on the fans forum tonight I don’t think they worry too much about what they say having any truth to it.
Delighted to have Mr Q's Leisure & Parties of Castleford as our new sponsor. But please note Mr Q's is a different organisation to Castleford Snooker Club https://www.facebook.com/p/Mr-Qs-Leisure-Parties-100054296390503/
Possibly to make it stand out? I don't know though, if that's the official training jacket then yes the shirts generally resemble that. I really do not know why sponsorship logos have to be so big now. When we were sponsored by Total, they were a big company and their logo was half the size.
Yep, the sizes are nuts. I get that it's an advert essentially, but that first season with Stake, their logo would have sat neatly inbetween the hoops on our home kit if it wasn't so bloody big. But it was a huge, slapped on eyesore!
Typical distraction tactics. If we’re all shielding our eyes from assault-by-kit, we won’t be able to notice the utter shyte being served up by the team.
How did we not cotton onto this before? Q = James Bond's gadget man. Alias = Major Boothroyd Aidy Boothroyd is sponsoring us!!!
Mr Q is not James Bond’s gadget man, he is in fact one of the Mister Men. You know, the one who stands behind all the other Mister Men.
The Big Step @the_bigstep Watford's main sponsor - "Mr Q" - has just received a big fine for anti-money laundering and social responsibility failures. Another unsafe gambling company unfit to be on a shirt. Not surprised Gino doesn't have a problem with this company.
As ever we sen to choose a dodgy company - even before the Pozzos came weren’t we sponsored by companies who got into bother ?
How much money do we get from "MrQ"? How much would an ethical company pay to advertise? Can we not afford the difference to make a stand?
