Seeing as Mr Hockaday has gone and if you believe the papers he was one who mainly was the mastermind in our 'direct' style of football could we see players like Stewart,Shittu and even Al take more time and care when in possession?

Or am I hoping for too much and it is really Aidy only behind all our tactics?

To be fair I don't know why he was sacked, however he has done a terrific job with some of the young players. I would like to know more about what has gone on before answering this question.

I can't believe for a minute that he was the sole reason for our route 1 tactics. Aidy has come out in support of them many times himself when he has said that it was the only way we could compete. When he (David) was managing the kids, he had them playing 'football' then so he was obviously capable. I feel that he has been made some kind of scapegoat for the whole situation, and now to make it look a good decision, Aidy HAS to keep us up.

David Hockaday's youth and reserve teams played pass and move football.

He was an advocate of our young successful players in the Lewington era, but some of those, like Demerit,Macca and Doyley, had to wait for Aidy to get the sustained chance.

If "senior players" or Aidy have conspired against David, holding him solely responsible for long ball, then they have short memories or forget what they were saying in the press about "the Premiership having to get used to us".

David Hockaday was not coaching people to miss from less than six yards or put repeated poor crosses and corners over.

Lost plot? Sold out? Scapegoat? £3 million for a capricious Collins John?

Some people should look to themselves.
