The reason why Wet Sham are throwing money into the transfer pot to try and stay in this league next season.

This is why players like Collins John don't want to sign for us, and the reason (I believe) Ash won't be with us on Feb 1st.

It's been said before but unfortunately (perhaps not the right choice of word) this promotion happened a year too early for us.

Blimey, it's not for one season though! There is always the season after to gain this money when we get promoted again!

Will it make a difference? All teams in the prem will be getting this...hardly puts out in front! We'll still struggle to beat clubs to the signature of players!

Which is fine for a club like us. I was suggesting that the West Ham investors (despite it being a possibility when they took over) cannot contemplate a drop down to the Championship again. They are far more likely to lose more players to the Prem than we will.

My other point was even the fringe players will be desperate to stay in the top flight given the increased wages they can earn. Unfortunately for him Collins John has made a prat out of himself by asking to leave expecting the big clubs to fight each other for his signature, when he could have kept quiet, played 10/11 games from the bench earning his 20k/week

As bubble suggests, this won't really affect us next season, as we will be competing financially with Championship clubs for players in which case we could easily match them. If we were after the same player as a Prem club next season then we wouldn't get them even if we could compete financially.

It will only really affect us the season after next, if we don't go up, in which case the teams going back down to the Championship will have a lot more financial clout than us and the rest of the Championship clubs.
