The boy wasn`t that bad (for the money) - scored more than Ellington, and cost `shirt buttons` the copycat fox in the box:]]

Former Northwood, Watford and Brentford striker Scott Fitzgerald has signed for Hayes and Yeading United ahead of Saturday's Blue Square kick off after impressing in a number of pre season friendlies.

Fitzgerald played for United's Conference South rivals Basingstoke Town last season and will be a useful addition to Garry Haylock's squad for the new season which starts at Church Road on Saturday when newly promoted Chelmsford City are the visitors.

What an earth happened to him?! I always thought he was a good player, ideal last ten minutes striker who could poach goals.

Great player for us at one stage but suddenly dissapeared. He was a great goal poacher who helped us in the 2003/2004 season. Not much of a loss tho, wierd how ehere talking about Fitzgerald (the past) and not the future. Its because there is no future at the minute. The only way is backwards!

An average player with no understanding of the off side rule.

I remember one game where H was trying to play him through and he stood there 5 yards off side looking down the line and still failed to notice. H had to stop, look round for another option and in the time that took was scythed down.

If H's missus had heard the language he aimed at Fitzgerald it would have made her t its curl up!

He can't be that bad, he's just signed for 2 clubs...

He was never a world-beater but he knew where the goal was.

I stand by what I've said for a while, he could've been the type of stiker that Aidy would've loved.

He did well while he was here and I'm still suprised he's not playing at a higher level than BSP.
