Phew. That's really handy for Watford. No game after 26th until 2nd January. Nice little break. We can go all out against Norwich knowing we can have a small break after.
Almost like it’s a nice little window with which we could have properly scouted a new manager. Still might to be fair.
Is this really a Covid outbreak or is it POLITICAL COVID to get out of having to allow Sky cover our match against them They are also not playing against Muff on Boxing day, so in effect they are getting a mid winter break and against what might be considered two of their most difficult opponents too
I don't care what Milwalls motive is it is good news for Watford, it would have been a hectic schedule for any new manager, this may give us a little bit of time to make some changes and work on his philosophy. I am sure that Milwall may have to actually prove to the football league that they have had a COVID outbreak.
I imagine the EFL would require some sort of proof. They won’t just let teams cancel games of their own accord. I also imagine most teams are given the choice of cancellation or going ahead - hence why when we have been affected, we have played our games. Unless our players didn’t have Covid and have been refusing to play for Ivic. Covid an easy excuse. Which I could believe...
I'm sure the Pozzos are constantly considering different manager options, even while we have a manager - why would a "window" make any difference to them? They're not the ones who would have been busy playing. What this does do is give the new manager a bit more of a "window" to coach his team as to his way of playing.
At least you've moved on enough from May time that you actually believe COVID is real enough for someone to fake having it.
Good for us as it gives the new guy a chance to work with the players and also gives the players a break
Not much of advantage for them tbf, the schedule this season is packed already and they're gonna have to play those games at some point!
We seemed to be plagued by players with covid , how many do you have to have with covid before they call the game off , handy for us ,however it seems a bit unfair to all the teams that have played with weak teams due to covid
thats what I mean , I thought originally after the restart teams were supposed to field a team by any means even if it meant using youngsters and b team players , how have millwall managed to get their games delayed ?
There is no difference, we have still played matches after players have tested positive. If a large enough proportion of players are out because of injury, or any other reason, the match can be postponed, including being away on International duty. It is not that players have tested positive, it is the amount of players that have tested positive that makes the difference. Note, I wrote "Tested positive" I did not say have Covid.
