http://www.eurosport.com/football/la-liga/2006-2007/sport_sto1080210.shtml More football rumours from Eurosport. Seems like another high profile signing winging his way here in the summer!
What strikes me slightly odd is that he went to Watford on the final day of the window and he went back without signing for us. Either we told him to fech off back home or he told us to fech off. Either way - why is the deal then suddenly back on? Agent trying to milk the fatted calf? Surely if he's any good and if he wants to play for us we could have reached an agreement before the end of the window?
Isn't this the guy...... that we were supposed to have left high and dry after he had bought himself out of his contract If he is, surely he is a FREE AGENT, and can be signed outside the window
Never heard of him, we'll see how the trial goes. When would he actually be able to sign for us then? Can he sign a contract with us now but not play until the transfer window is opened again?
I see what you mean... a complete unknown playing for a team just as unknown. With £10million ready to spend, I can see why we would want to wait until the summer when his contract expires!
I don't understand the player's quote about seemingly promising to sign for us and having "a desire to wait to play finally in the Premier League". As the article suggests we probably won't be able to sign him in June, in which case he won't actually be playing in the Premier League for us. So either: this quote is from before the end of the transfer window; he doesn't understand the transfer window; his club are going to terminate his contract; or the quote is actually him saying he doesn't care about signing for an English club outside the Premier League, he doesn't mind waiting before playing in it. I can't quite figure out which is the most likely meaning. Any ideas? And UEA, this guy has played 12 games in La Liga this season, so is a lot more experienced than any of our other foreign signings at least. He is also 1.93m, so maybe more suited to the English game than the Spanish? http://www.gimnasticdetarragona.com/ (go to 'Primer Equip' then click on his name in the 'Defenses' list)
Woah! Read again, all I said was that he wasn't high profile. 12 appearances in La Liga don't change that!
Lloyd Doyleys played nearly 30 games in the best league in the world.. doesnt exactlhy make him a world beater though does it?
Well with 12 La Liga experiences he's also a lot more high profile than our other foreign signings as well (not that that would be very difficult).
