According to Affleck, this is done. Dyer was apparently talking to Dowling with a couple of mobile phones also involved. Guessing he's off too.
Well, if somebody wants to buy a couple of mobile phones, I guess throwing Dyer in as well would sweeten the deal. Or would it ....?
I reckon Dyer is going to stay. I think the key point is that McGugan was part of the first team that imploded in 2013/14 season. Despite his goals and assists, statistics show we were a worse team with him present, than the team the year before or the year after

It'll be sorted soon enough. I don't expect McGoo to still be here by the time we play Everton Sent from my Sinclair ZX81 using a 1200 bps modem
McGugan's transfer falls through and he goes on to be our Player of the Season and scores 22 goals. Sent from my time machine, in the future

He's gone officially. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/13423646.McGugan_completes_Wednesday_move/ :mengoal:
All the people celebrating his departure like he was poor, come off it. Even if you don't like him you can't deny he's an exciting player, surely. I think he played number 10 for SW last season & that's a brilliant role for him; he'll get bags of goals, has great set-piece delivery & his overall technique is excellent. It's a very good signing for them, despite him being an extremely frustrating player at times - he should be in the PL if his application was like someone like Troy's - his output is unquestionable, really.
His output is very questionable, 3 goals and 3 assists in 22 games for a Number 10 with no defensive responsibilities As WatfordTalk once pointed out, he has shown him self to consistently be a standout player in a midtable side but not good enough for the top 6
Meh. He was asked a question about one of his players and responded positively. Would you expect anything different?
But they clearly loved him there and that was half a season in a new side... I think he started last season well and was unlucky that in his first full season we became a bit of a mess.
Don't forget this was from the official website. The reintegration and rehabilitation of Lloyd Dyer has begun in earnest.
What irks me is so many voice their opinion as if it were gospel yet have absolutely no knowledge about anything. I don't know what Dyer or McGugan really did nor do you. Fans have favourites that can do no wrong and also hate figures that will never do anything right. Neither extreme is rational. For me, in my little world, any player that pulls on a Watford shirt and plays to their ability gets my support.
Whilst I generally agree with the sentiments of your post, WE DID all see Dyer's disgusting behaviour to our then manager and his total lack of team spirit. Whilst he may have apologised (although I don't ever recall seeing an oficial one) he was still excluded from the main squad by the management at that time.
Even that season where scored 10 or whatever goals he was crap, bar maybe 10 games. Real shame; obvious ability let down by poor decision making and a poor work rate.
