With Derby expected to get Ghaly and Savage, Oakley could be available. From what i saw from him last season he looked like a good leading centre midfielder who can get back and forward. Only 29 or 30, worth a punt?
Can people try thinking before posting suggestions? Oakley is club captain and has played in every game this season so far. Why on earth would they sell him?
I'm sure that happened somewhere else this season..... Not to mention the fact it was a previous manager who made him captain. Jewell might well have his own ideas about what is needed both in midfield and as a captain. Not saying it's likely to happen but it's not quite as ridiculous as you make it sound.
Sorry, didn't bother looking at his apps, or knowing he is their captain. Was only a suggestion though with them having newish manager who surely has new ideas of who to get and who to get rid off.
Hey don`t knock people for having `original` thoughts. Some people would have thought that about Gav. until recently - you never can tell with football, it is a funny old game:]]
Apologies Drew, not having a go at you. It's just some of the 'suggestions' posted in this section recently are laughable and cringeworthy. It's getting irritating.
ghaly got sent back by Birmingham because he refused to run in training, because spurs aparently dont do it.
Since the Bosman ruling loyalty counts for nothing, from both sides. Gav could have walked in the Summer - if we are promoted we would let him, if not he will still do a job. Fact is by selling him now we get a little bit of money and save £15/£20K PER WEEK. I have no idea what Oakley's contract is but that will be the decider. That and the fact that Aidy has no money to spend unless he sells.
No thanks, he's over the hill and injury prone! He was good back in the day for Saints, but not now! Ben Watson from Palace would be my shout!
Ours was over the hill, barely playing of late and performing *****. Oakley is the driving force behind that Derby team by all accounts. Slight difference...
Righto. I'm going to get in early here and eat my He's off to Leicester for £500k. I seriously considered deleting this thread, but people have long memories around here :dismay:
Looks like others should be eating a bit of humble pie too. Can people please think before posting negative comments that come back to haunt them?
