Yes but we will be getting players in in transfer window so we'll have them playing and a proper goalscorer!

Really? They work for me... I'll try somewhere else. They're too big to be hosted on here.

big dan was having a shocker but otherwise i felt we were going to get a result from today which is a shame along with Charlton winning as well.

the pitxh was unplayable really after that heavy downpoor, i am glad i sit in the back of the rookery and not the old stand as they all got soaked:)

when is the next rugby game there? i hope that gets cancelled otherwise we will have to go back to long ball tactics as there will be no grass left

People around me were moaning but I thought it was the right decision. It became a lottery, not football.

I think the fact that we were drawing made the refs decision easier, how pee'd off would you have been if we had been winning!
I think it was the right decision as we could have so easily have yet another player to injury.

Positives to come out of this:
1/ Big Dan plays only half a game and gets to rest his ankle for that bit longer.
2/ By the time we get a replay date we will have new players in (please!!!) and Bouazza back.

yes definately, we will have a few new players (hopefully a new striker), boozer and shittu back to full fitness- an easy win in my books ;D

HOWEVER, they will have Henri Camara back, who I reckon would improve their team more than someone who will come in the transfer window for us.
We were looking very lively this afternoon and if it wasn't for the rain we should have won.

The next game will be more of a risk.

    That is the worry...

Wigan fans say their team will be much stronger with 3 key players back and a couple of new signings.

Then again we did ok at the JJB with Lee McCulloch,Camara and bloek from Austria in their side.

As has been mentioned, great finish by Boothroyd late on. I think it was from outside the box.

I thought it was a bit of a harsh decision but as someone's already said it was made easier by the fact we were drawing. Bit annoyed though because Dartford Crossing was a nightmare.

It would have been the first homematch I missed for years. And I wasn't there. So they called it off. Yeh!!

Well then Dave, it was the first home 'first half' you missed!

I didn't notice at the time but the forth official today was Graham Poll. It was only this ref's second Prem game and he did give it a fair crack at being playable and was maybe a little concerned about postponing. But it seems both managers spoke to Poll and he called the ref over and gave him the nod to give up.

Both Managers did speak to the 4th Official prior to him calling the Ref. over.
The abandonment is a real shame for the Wigan fans (who have another long round trip to make) and even worse for us as we would surely have had 3 points out of the game if it had been completed. However, given the danger of injury to the players, it was the only sensible decision in the end.

The elder of my equally-favoured-sons said that "This game won't be finished today" before a ball was kicked, but I told him it was very rare for a game to be abandoned due to rain once it had been started. I knew we were in real trouble when the pie I was eating (3 rows from the front, next to the tunnel) filled up with water ....

He didn't have a choice. But a shame for the Wigan fans.
