I've been to Liverpool three times, car got broken into on each occasion. Those are the only times in 30+ years that my car has been broken into. I really can't abide Liverpool and the scum filth that roam their crappy streets.
Best thing about that goal is the commitment shown by Rob Page and Mark Williams to fly into the tackle that presented the ball to Mooney. Need a similar mindset today!
My abiding memory of Liverpool when we beat them 1-0 under GT (what a game that was) was on the way home, a group of kids, no more than 8 year olds, throwing a brick at the coach window. Nice. Luckily the brick bounced off.
I should perhaps clarify - on the occasions I've driven I've been broken into each time (I've also had cause to take the train a few times). Once when I drove up with some Liverpool-supporting housemates to watch a drab 0-0 European tie back when Michael Owen was playing, driver window smashed, radio stolen. Again visiting my then GF whilst she was on a course up there. Passenger window smashed, glove box rifled. Finally, three years ago - wife had never been, so we drove up and spent the day there. Got back to find the passenger window smashed, again glove box open. My car has never been broken into on any other occasion. And I do despise Liverpool and the scum that roam their crappy streets.
Britos in for Janmaat. 5-4-1 formation. Going to take Richarlison and Deeney killing someone for them to be dropped.
Was there, rarely felt so nervous holding out for a win. Scoreline masks the fact we were getting battered.
I reject such an inflammatory suggestion! I have my own text books besides! This is going to end badly isn't it? I'm off to hide in the snow!
I've been to Liverpool countless times and have never had my car smashed into. I'd be more paranoid to leave my car parked in Luton than Liverpool tbh Did your car look like this by any chance?
Can't see anything but a defeat here. Britos, Mariappa & Prodl collectively the worst defenders in the Prem? Chuck Holebas in the mix and that is a horrible horrible back line. Would've liked to have seen Gray run in behind a dodgy Liverpool defence. NDong most pointless signing in Watford history? Snow the only thing giving us a chance here, not sure why I'm feeling super negative today.
I have also been 3 times - car only broken into twice! - 1996 France Holland in Euro 96 was the best - parked in a side road (new E class Merc so yes v stupid) police admitted that they used it as bait - they parked a car at each end of the road and waited - they are not allowed to entrap but this was ok - they told me later that the 14 year old they caught had over 50 priors
Given that you basically agree with me that staying until the final whistle and making the 19:48 would have been just about impossible, I'm not blaming you now, just that I don't know why you didn't respond until it was too late on a thread that had been up nearly a week. And yes I have conceded I should have given it a title more specific to my request, but how hard is it for people to at least skim read the first post in a thread they've clicked on? Even on opening and/or after responding you can tell at a glance it wasn't meant to be a match preview thread, and people usually give these a fuller title.
Can't wait until our carefully prepared 5-4-1 game plan goes out the window when we concede in the opening five minutes.
A purely factual step by step approach. To eliminate suspects from enquiries. Probably yes but we can’t hope for the first 15 mins.
It is easily obtainable even without having travelled there before, and that was the basis of my original query. Just taking issue with someone who claimed I could have "easily made it" when it was too late that's all. Not sure of the points you're making in your final two paragraphs. It would have a gamble to travel there in the hope of an unlikely draw/win in what's turned out to be unseasonably cold conditions which isn't worth the hassle of spending all night staying in or travelling back from Liverpool, obviously there are worse things in life. I wouldn't have blamed the provider, because there are so many variables that affect travelling, not least of them luck, and if that person had travelled countless times from Anfield to Lime Street comfortably within 25 minutes, who would I be to blame him just because I'd got unlucky this time? Anyway, I hope we pull off some minor miracle, c'mon you Orns!
