Whatever side Ivic picked tonight, he’d be damned if he did and damned if he didn’t. We are all agreed that things are not great at the club right now. We know there are key players missing and that several will be sold. What he seems to have done tonight is select a side that’s a mix of current first teamers and youngsters/fringe players. It’s only his second match in charge and it’s affords him a good opportunity to have a look at his squad. He’s not chosen an under 23s side, nor has he picked too many of the eleven we’d expect to start on Saturday, thus subjecting them all to injury risk.
We'll find out if we manage to scrape through tonight and the mighty U's get past Newport. But whatever happens, the Yellows are going to come out on top.
