Watford v Wigan I'm going for a rare Watford win. Wigan have had two really tough games - home to Chelsea and away to Manchester United - and they're down to the bare bones in terms of players. I think Watford's 'up and at 'em' style might be enough to win the day. Match preview Prediction: 2-1
WATFORD V WIGAN PREVIEW It may only be the end of December but Watford's home date with Wigan on Saturday already has the look of a do-or-die contest for the hosts. Nine points adrift of safety with just one win to their name in 19 matches, The Hornets' plight is grave. And the chance to face an out-of-form Wigan side - albeit The Latics have faced Chelsea and Manchester United in their last two matches - is one Aidy Boothroyd's side cannot afford to pass up. Four successive defeats and just one win in nine matches means the festive mood has passed Paul Jewell by. The Wigan boss has lamented his side's injury list and it lengthened on Friday with confirmation that midfielder Paul Scharner is out for up to eight weeks after undergoing knee surgery. Influential forward Henri Camara remains sidelined with a knee problem and winger Lee McCulloch completes a three-match ban for his sending off against Sheffield United. Jewell is boosted, though, by the return of captain Arjan de Zeeuw who missed the Boxing Day defeat at Manchester United with an ongoing toe injury. Meanwhile, striker Svetoslav Todorov plays his last game of a four-month loan deal before returning to parent club Portsmouth. Boothroyd will hand a late fitness test to his defender Danny Shittu. Shittu hobbled off with an ankle sprain towards the end of the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Boxing Day and is rated 50-50 for the meeting with The Latics. Boothroyd's other concerns are in attack - Hameur Bouazza is expected to be out for up to six weeks with a dislocated shoulder and Marlon King (knee) has already been ruled out until the end of the season. James Chambers (gash) and Clarke Carlisle (muscle) are also missing. Skysports.com Prediction: 2-0 An Ashley Young-inspired win gives Watford hope. Player to watch: Ashley Young GET IN!!!!!!!
Another one of my daft predictions, no wonder I'm rubbish at Jobr's prediction game. One day I'll be right though!
