Endeavour - Yes. Passion - Of course. Commitment - Definitely. Luck - No chance. Our luck has to change somewhere - walking towards Villa park, enveloped by a load of overly-confident Villa fans I thought aloud to my mate Rob that this was going to be the day. Met a few mates at the ground and saw a few familiar faces who all seemed quite confident, concerning the afternoons match. The performance matched the atmosphere; poor. However both the team and fans had instances where they'd get on top of things and the possibility of a shock seemed all the more likely.........but luck wasn't on our side. A brave defensive performance heroically outshadowed by the superb Ben Foster, torn to pieces by one unlucky deflection. I think I summed it up when I just said "The story of our season, never any effing luck", then it was to get much worse when Villa scored a breakaway second. The main positive was actually realising that Villa DID have some fans in attendance, as they finally made a few murmerings of noise. One visit to the pub and train journey later, I arrived back in Watford, 'Home of the Golden Boys', and turned my attention to tuesday night - We're surely just playing for pride now....or are we?
