Joshua Brenet - no relation to former defendaaaa Dale Brenet - apparently on our and many other clubs radar.
He's a 23 year old right back who can also play left-back and, at a push, right midfield.

Watford and Celtic are two of a number of clubs who have expressed an interest in securing the services of PSV Eindhoven full-back Joshua Brenet, according to reports in Holland.

The 23-year-old featured in 26 games across all competitions for PSV last season, including four appearances in the Champions League, but found chances limited nearer the end of the season. Just 13 of those 26 appearances were Eredivisie starts and Brenet is thought to be contemplating a move away from Holland.

Brenet is a right-back by trade, however, he found himself played on the left of a back four or even in right midfield at times last season. Santiago Arias is their first choice right-back, but he is expected to move on this summer too, with Liverpool, Everton and Swansea all reportedly interested.

De Telegraaf report that Fiorentina, FC Koln, Eintracht Frankfurt and Udinese are also interested in Brenet.

Lets hope we don't get into a bidding war with Udinese!

Celtic sounds like a huge club, but after, Rangers and Aberdeen, they only really play league 1 clubs.

Sounds like a useful utility player - we won't sign him then.

Sounds a player with potential and sell-on value. It's a yes from me.

Frankly generous to suggest Aberdeen or Rangers are far above League 1 standard themselves.

Pozzo model mate. Pop down the paint factory, pick out a dozen local lads, and Bob's your uncle you've got a soccerball team.

As long as he's not related to David Brenet.

The Watford Observer are reporting there's been no contact with WFC but, hey, according to the agents rep he might move in this window (unless they get an improved contract coz, like, you're (PSV) selling the #1 right-back at the club.) Expect to see his cheesy grin and the new yellow shirt held aloft by Brenet on Friday. Or not.

There has been no move for PSV full-back Joshua Brenet from Watford, the player's representatives have confirmed. The 23-year-old, who was a bit-part player for the Eindhoven side, making only 13 starts in the Eredivisie, has reportedly been attracting the interests of both Celtic and the Hornets.

The player's representatives confirmed to the Watford Observer no deal had been struck, or was in discussion, over a move to Vicarage Road. But the spokesperson for Muy Manero, the player's agents, refused to rule out the prospect of a move before the end of the transfer window.

Brenet has two caps for the Netherlands, won at the start of the campaign when he was more frequently involved - and on the back of a 2015/16 season where he was a first-team regular.

Great highlights reel. I presume there's a different one for his tackling and cross stopping skills.

So just to be clear, we can get excited about a bit part player most of us haven't heard of, because he plays for PSV who finished 3rd in the Dutch leagues, but Berghuis, who we already own, we think wouldn't cut it in the premier league, because he has only played consistently in the team that won the Dutch league....Have i missed something?

I'm also not really aware of many people stating that Berghuis wouldn't cut it in the PL. Most fans seem favourable to him coming back unless I've missed something?

I read it somewhere, it may not have been on this forum, but there were a reasonable percentage of posts saying things like, he would be too lightweight, and just because he'd done well in a very easy Dutch league etc.

I just saw "The Fighter" tag line so I assumed it would be a video of him, Deeney and Joshua going a few rounds. Then he started running and dribbling with a ball in the video. I was totally let down too.

It's a matter of suitability for English football and the quality of alternatives at his present club.

From what we've seen, Berghuis is a lightweight like Gerard Deulofeu, who came from Barcelona (wow!) and is apparently going back there (WTF?). Would you prefer that we signed him rather than Spurs' reserve right-back Trippier?

I've no idea whether Brenet is any good or not, but I wouldn't rule him out on the ground that PSV finished behind Feyenoord.

We'd be signing him for Udinese so everyone can stop worrying about his suitability.

I'm not trying to rule him out, mate I'm just highlighting the fickle psyche of some Watford fans. For the record I really rate Trippier.

Trippier always seems to do the damage every time we play Spurs.

No way he's coming here though.

Or going anywhere if they sell Walker.
