Still has his critics, today not sitting in my normal seat i found myself behind a complete tool who felt the need to knock JS everytime he touched the ball. He didn't have a great game but wasn't terrible and the abuse this guy was dishing out was out of line.
Eventually i found myself telling him to "lay off him and pipe down".

It probably wouldn't make any difference if Stewart had a fantastic game. Once some people have made their mind up they only see what fits with their opinion. :(
Some people just have to have a whipping boy to take the blame for everything.

It's the watford way to have a scapegoat, responsible for every problem regardless of how they play!

Maybe it's because he's rubbish. He always plays the simple pass, even if it means playing someone in to trouble. If he goes to play a long ball, its whistles in to a stand.

His only strength is his crossing, but he does one 3 times a year.

He stands around, pointing, whilst all the other players carry the left back role, whether it's marking, tackling or throwing.

Doesn't mean he deserves to have abuse hurled at him throughout the 90 minutes. He's not rubbish, if you watch the game and him closely at tmes you'll see he does well defensively most of the time. Yea distribution isn't great by any means but Bangura's passing is woeful at times yet i don't see him getting slated.

haha this individual was about 40 so i'm pretty sure it wasn't you ;D

I dont agree with 90 mins of abuse, but lets face it we do need a new left back. it was another less than impressive performance from jordan imo.

Because Banguras passing is just as poor does not justify Stewart being poor.

The_ivam - sit with me with the oldies in the U/Rous and look at his play from that perspective. He's awful.

No it doesn't but when other players make mistakes it goes unrecognised, Stewart gets singled out as the scapegoat and it's unfair.

There is no doubt that he is the weak link in the team but I still believe that we should support our players, no matter how good they are. At least he puts the effort in, unlike some people...

    Jordan Is OK!!!!

I'm not sure what games you lot are watching

Jordan is often our last line of defence, he has made more goal line clearances and last ditch tackles than anyone else on the team, and he always gives 110%, which is more than I can say for many of our players!!!!

OK he makes a few mistakes, but so does everyone else in the team, yet I don't here them getting the critisism that he gets, you jump on the slightest error he makes, but when he makes a goal line clearance, of which he has made many, you do not dish out your praise so willingly

So lay off Jordan, he is much better than most of you give him credit for!!!! >:D

Very well said. The bit about last ditch challenges and vital clearances is spot on.

adie must still rate him as he is keeping powell out of the team and i feel he has improved a lot since last season. i think it was the derby game at home when adie brought him off and moved chambers to left back, and the crowed cheered. i also thought in the mock penalty shoot out at the end of the season he took a bit of punishment and yet still gives a 100% for the team.

Maybe he does make a few good tackles and clearances but the negatives by far outweigh the positives. imo he isnt good enough for the premiership.

No wonder Leicester fans were delighted to get rid.

the jury is split on stewart and i am not one of his greatest fans but lets face it there isnt anyone better in that position. i was pleased when powell came in but he's been no better in the games he has played for us.

To easy to slant Stewart, and Foster was awful. Bring back Richard Lee

There were others that didnt perform.
Agreed on foster. He was rushing out of his area at every opportunity.

stewart is a good player. Everyone makes mistakes but when he makes mistakes we usually get punished. He has improved so much since he's joined us. I think next season sign a left back get rid of powell and give stewart some competition!

Stewart is simply not up to it. Most of his goalline clearances are as a result of mistakes he made earlier in a move. He was responsible for their goal today: three defenders push up perfectly and who's there standing with his hand in the air playing two Stockport players onside? You guessed it. When he passes short he passes to opposition players, when he passes long people in the stands have to wear tin helmets. He hammered in one good shot today and credit for that, but that doesn't excuse him for poor positioning and generally not being up to it. It would help if he didn't put his hand up for every sit piece in the Premiership and then f*ck it up. How many teams have we let off the hook because he's kicked the ball straight into their keeper's arms? I know Leicester fans who thank me daily for us buying him - that's how highly they rated him!

didnt he assist malkys 2nd goal today?

  23. UEA_Hornet

    UEA_Hornet First Team Captain

Yes he did, hence I said Premiership. Maybe if Stockport had bothered marking up it'd have been cleared easily. Whatever, it was the very least we should expect after being subjected to his set pieces over the last few weeks.

he is alot better than powell. he makes us look absolutley shocking and im embarrassed when he starts for us as he wouldnt get in any team in the championship let alone the prem!

uea - if you're gioing to criticise him for mistakes against them you cant ignore his good points.

How am I ignoring his good points? So he makes one assist out of tens of attempted free kicks in recents weeks and all is forgotten? Good one! He shot well today - that's the first time I can remember him severely challenging a goalkeeper (other than Ben Foster at Palace last year ;D)

Stewart did have one good shot and to be fair does show good pace to get back and cover sometimes after his own error but a lot of Championship defenders are like that I guess.

For some reason he always jumps in the air with 2 feet when passing or crossing the ball a lot yet as we saw against Wigan can do a decent ball with one foot on the ground.

Why don't we play Foster at left back, since he likes to play outside the box and hoof it up the line. Then we can play Richard Lee in goal and Jordan Stewart will be on the bench. ;D :p ;D
