We're keeping an eye on the Blackpool striker Jerry Yates apparently. Shame we didn't keep more of an eye on him a couple of weeks ago. https://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1150773174?-276:790:latest_news
I'm sure we were linked with him before? Seems a decent player, but given that Davis came off yesterday, I hope it isn't a sign his injury is serious!
Bayo is a good poacher, he gets in good positions even if he doesn't always finish well, but we do lose something when Davis isn't on the pitch, I'm not sure if it was deliberate on our part as we were already 3 up, but Davis going off did coincide with one of their better periods in the game
Bayo is **** but has poked in 3 goals. Give him a longer sample and we will see his mettle. Has zero ability.
Bayo has scored 3 goals in 509 mins for Watford (or a goal every 169 mins) Bayo has scored 37 goals in 5678 mins elsewhere in his career (or a goal every 153 mins) We all know he's limited in what he can do and bring to the team, but his goals to mins ratio has always been very good.
4 goal contributions now in 509 mins. We knew what we were getting. What we’ve seen so far tacks exactly with what we’ve seen across his career. Great goal contribution per minutes ratio, limited otherwise, and few managers have trusted him to play full 90s regularly. But if he scores 10 goals and 3 assists in 1600 mins this season that is very decent (if not worth £4m).
If Davis is out for a while we're f*cked. Are we good enough to carry a striker who literally does nothing apart from score every few games? I know that sounds great if he's getting the goals but Davis is such a good target man for JP, Sarr and Sema to play off. Bayo just doesn't have the ability or brain to do that, he still looks completely lost when he's on the pitch.
Outside of anything else anyone does or does not think about him, crediting that as an assist is a very generous call, indeed.
Am I correct in saying he wasn’t offered a contract as wasn’t really doing that great and then right near the end of his contract went on a mad goal scoring spree, something like 9 in 11 or something. Then we offered the contract which he turned down and left? I’m pretty sure these were the days I relied on Ceefax, Match magazine and my Grandads Sun newspaper for information!
Yep, exactly. Couldn't even get in the side, got in, couldn't stop scoring ....Went to Reading and scored in their play off final defeat to Bolton the next season.
Wouldn’t mind having him back, one of the last players we had who was actually a threat from set pieces.
