It all kicked off tonight in Roma.. But is their any need for a copper to beat a supporter like this while down? http://www.dailymotion.com/Matthierry/video/x1mnkk_crowd-fights
The reason why there is more trouble abroad than here is soley because the shyte policing in foreign countries. That would not have been allowed to happen at old trafford or any other english ground
i don't think its the sole reason, but an important one nonetheless. for example the laws are slacker and the clubs give free tickets to hardcore supporter groups
The real problem is...... That the "nutters", that call themselves football fans in virtually every country, still think that it is a feather in their cap to "take" the supporters of England or an English team. The fact that most English football fans have outgrown, so called "football violence" has not filtered through to the foriegn hooligans "Pea Brains" yet. Hence they attack us, and more often than not we still get the blame for trying to defend ourselves  over!!!!!!
keyword "most" Fault was clear from both sets of supporters last night, yes Roma do have a hardcore element, as do most clubs. To say English fans have outgrown violence is pure stupidity and ignorance.
As you point out jobr .............I did say "MOST" !!! And I did so quite deliberately, as I am not stupid or ignorant enough to think otherwise, despite what others may think or suggest.
I said the keyword being most, so why do you feel the need to shout and highlight the obvious? Back to your attention seeking ways of no one is allowed to question Jimbo's opinion? The fact is you stated the following; "The fact that most English football fans have outgrown, so called "football violence" To say that is fact is both stupid and ignorant, as it clearly isn't true unless you live in a very blinkered world. Keep the last seven words of self pity off here, there is no place for it.
I think most English football fans HAVE outgrown so called football violence. Unfortunately our international reputation hasn't caught up with that and people expect trouble. It's one of the reasons the police react the way they do.
DJ is right we haven't got the scale of problem we had but within every club there is a hooligan element, quite a large one in Manures case. They were as much up for it last night as Roma fans, and both got what they wanted in the end.
I went to rome a year ago, great city but went to see them play a game and the police were the same then. Apparently, the majority of the police are mad football fans of either Rome or Lazio and so police the home games of the clubs they support, hence why away fans are not treated as well as others! Went to a Milan game as well and it was totally different there but was in the day of old Silvio running it when he was prime minister so they could not have too much trouble there!
at the moment such things ony happen in italy, they have real problems there. i think the stadiums in italy r not save enough and the police is not able to handle the problem
but you yourself intimated that most english football fans outgrown football violence! you even made a point in one of your posts in saying that it was 'most' of them.
here it seems you are agreeing that its most supporters though and its just the minority who are still into the violence.
Now its only a "minority" of Spuds fans ripping out and throwing seats. Still we have grown out of it in England, lol. What are the odds on Chelsea next week trying to out do Manure and Spuds
