how do you know they are Jewish…because they are holding a sign up?

If anyone with an opposing view had dared to show their face at the Anti-HS2 Bagder Sett and ancient woodland destruction 'demo' I was in the thick of a couple of years ago it would definitely have kicked off. Total carnage - there'd have been tea and home made fruit cake everywhere

    Oops. Sorry Sir.
In my defence I had just been listening to Grant Shapps so my brain may not have been functioning properly

Aaah the organisation that served to support Jeremy Corbyn’s antisemitic politics and to smear anyone who says they have experienced antisemitism in the Party. That is its function, that is why it exists. It is there to pretend that Labour Jews are split on the question of antisemitism

Left antisemitism in general is embraced by people who believe that they themselves are trenchant opponents of antisemitism. Some of these people are Jews

Clive simply made the point that Jewish people could attend the demo unmolested. These may be wrong-uns to you, but the point remains. Your other post is a false equivalence.

Loving the Shappsy avatar. Is it only me that has a soft spot for his endless positivity in the face of overwhelming incompetence?

you can attend the area as long as your beliefs are aligned with those marching. And no it’s not a false equivalence but let’s leave politics - we will rarely see eye to eye

As he seemed to be trying to claim earlier today, whilst the figures may not be correct, they are not wrong and it’s all to do with the accounting methods used. Maybe that’s the excuse he’ll use regarding his tax returns a little down the line.

We don't even allow that at football matches, never mind politically charged issues attended by hotheads on differing sides.

I also liked the way he implied that because Rishi had seen them the sums must be right. The former chancellor - who gave away billions of our money to companies that didn't exist during covid - has had a look at the figures and given them the thumbs up so just relax!

Of all of the social misfits, bunglers, drug addicts and perverts that make up the Government there is something about Shapps that is uniquely irritating!

Mark Etkind, the son of a Holocaust survivor, has shared photos of a group of five, four of whom are related to Holocaust survivors while a fifth was persecuted directly by the Nazis, standing at the march.

“I, and other Holocaust survivor descendants, have been regularly attending these London protests with placards showing that we are ‘openly Jewish’” he said. “We have, so far, not experienced any antisemitism at all.

He added that “every major pro-Palestine demonstration in London has included a large Jewish bloc which has received nothing but support and warmth from their fellow demonstrations”.

“Claims that these protests are no-go zones for Jews are completely untrue,” he said.

No shock really, Hamas is Iran and their leadership have holy war boners. Still doesnt justify Israels actions after a certain point nor the innocents blood spilled on both sides. No idea what the way out of this mess is.

A good start would be to give back the hostages.

Agreed. Hostage taking is ******* abhorrent.

But there were also 5000 Palestinians who were in custody, including many young people, many without being charged. Unless they have been charged or found guilty of a crime, they also need to be freed.

Couldn't agree more. If both sides did all of the above this thing could start to end.

agree that people shouldn’t be held with no charge

the journalist Jenny Kleeman from the Guardian, and BBC Radio 4 believe it is SO WRONG that Israel hold children criminally responsible from the age of 12 years old.

the age of criminal responsibility in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is 10 years old. (Scotland is 12).

And the Palestinian Authority hold children criminally responsible from just 8 years old. (Hamas have no minimum age).

I very much doubt they are still alive to be honest. The mess is a whole lot bigger than a few hostages from October though. Going to make the Northern Ireland peace talks seem like a tea party for toddlers in comparison.

Israel needs to get onside with other countries in the region that have a dislike for the Iranian leadership to cut off supply routes for Hamas and Hezbollah as a starter. Seems to me the larger players in the area though may have a dislike for Israel they arent down with Iran either, they would have little interest in a larger confilct between the two countries breaking out especially the rich gulf states. There are plenty of mutual back scratching opportunities around for Israel.

    https://www.ibanet.org/article/D265... idea is that all,vast, oil-generated coffers.

and as a side note I don’t believe all the hostages are dead. I believe they are being held in tunnels in Rafah
