I’m still concerned that Man Utd will turn to Sarr after eventually giving up on Sancho.

Agree completely and would add that he is a remarkable athlete with stamina as well as speed and strength. Sarr has developed his game off the ball, when we are not in possession, tracking back and doing the hard yards. An exceptional talent, mixed with good attitude and natural physical quality!

I'm praying we don't keep him only to see a Championship clogger break him in his first game after the window closes....

Hope Gino has some top notch insurance policy on him.

As a big Liverpool fan, no chance he goes to them, heard he had a dartboard with Roy Keane's face on back home in Senegal :p

50/50 for the Ballon D'or?! I know some of us are quite negative at times - but the positive-o-meter has just blown up on that one!

Imagine how many Ballon d'Ors Sarr would win if he could actually play a successful final ball more than one time in ten attempts!

I'm excited to see him with a striker who can actually move. More often that not his final ball was great but Deeney was huffing and puffing in the centre spot.

Yep they worked together at The National and I think are pretty close so generally trust anything he says Watford wise - purely as I don't see what he'd gain from making anything up.

Not sure how many of his listeners are interested in the Will Hughes contract situation! But I sincerely hope we aren't trying to loan out Sarr as it may cause this forum to implode.

Glad the owner is finally showing some balls in the transfer market. The first two sales suggested we're a soft touch, by selling players under their true value, but Sarr is their one chance to make some really big money.

Now it looks like the figure will have to reach £50m. United are a risk, as they can afford that, but do they really want him that much? I guess we'll see, but I don't think anyone else would come in that high in this window, apart from maybe United. Certainly not Wolves, or Palace if they lose Zaha. I don't see any other rival going for him. Not Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs or City.

Hopefully United's interest is just a bluff in order to get Sancho at a more reasonable price. as Dortmund will not be selling Sancho for £108m to anyone. I suspect if they feel United are seriously moving away they may reconsider their position and lower their selling price, but they'll still get a lot of money from the deal, which I'm sure they need. Right now they're being unreasonably greedy.

I think Suarez is considered very important, so they may not sell him low. Maybe around £20m is his fee, which will be a little high for European clubs and no one in England seems to be aware of him yet.

I'm hoping we'll keep him, as I would have thought he'd have gone, or certainly a lot more chatter surrounding him by now

No way any clubs will meet our apparent valuation of Suarez. Only thing is then, what if he throws a hissy fit? What if we need to sell? Can still see Suarez go for about £15-20m or so

I’d love to see Sarr play for us this season in the Champ, potentially one of the best to have played in this division and could be the difference between promotion or not.

I’m also looking forward to some posters on here stating a few times in the season that he’s not actually that good and has clearly had his head turned, needs to be dropped and they would drive him to another club for free, because based on his performances he’s barely worth £5m. Then those same people to moan about how Pozzo has lost his mind because he’s just sold him for £35m and clearly undersold one of the best talents in world football.

    Fingers crossed.

The fee for Jota is supposedly £41m rising to £45m. You’d have to believe Sarr was their first choice and they’ve walked away after getting a quote - you’d have to now be fairly convinced we are asking for at least £50m.

Interesting reading reports that Liverpool walked away from the fee AND the structure of the deal. I wonder if we are insisting any buyer pays a huge amount up front and that’s what we are using to chase clubs away. Or perhaps the structure could change for clubs that aren’t Liverpool - well known the Pozzo’s don’t like the club.

They apparently don't like Liverpool, but they've happily done business with Everton twice after their antics over Silva. I get the feeling they don't let emotions get in the way and compartmentalise deals. Business is business after all. I'd be surprised they would hold a grudge over Liverpool if they were so forgiving over Everton. Also, although no deal has been done, Suarez was linked with Marseille, after they poached Gueye.

If United drop out, or were never interested, I think we've got a clear run at keeping him. I certainly hope so.

Apparently Sarr has travelled with the squad, so should be part of the team tomorrow. Even if he's just on the bench, this is very good news.

Yeah no way he starts, but an appearance off the bench to ease his way into the season is just what we need! (unless he is leaving, which he might not be)

Liverpool signing Jota for £45 million is FANTASTIC news.

That’s quite literally what Sarr would’ve cost them. Plus the £30 million they spent on Thiago, I think they’re done for now.

I don’t want to curse it and not sure if Sarr will still stay but I’m pretty certain he’s not going to Liverpool!

Yeah, and the way they're structuring deals, they're not actually spending a lot of that money now, Wolves and Bayern can handle that, but we obviously can't, so no deal. I suspect Manchester United (or, by extention, Dortmund) will continue to sniff around, but for now, he's one of us. Salivating at the prospect of him playing for us next few games!

    The timing also feels significant.

24-36 hours ago the club Twitter account tweets videos of Sarr training and a picture of him with Ivic.

Same time talks with Liverpool broke down and the memo came that they’re pursuing other targets (Jota)

So the media team gets the all clear to mention Sarr online.

I know they did the same with Pervis so anything’s possible but I believe unless a crazy bid comes in Sarr’s here for now.

United want Sancho, personal terms are agreed. The Sarr talk is just to push that I reckon.

If United don’t get Sancho now, they’ll get him eventually he’s 100% going to end up there.
