Thing is, the European Window doesn't slam shut for a couple of weeks, so more of a priority to get the Welbeck deal sealed first.
That might be the case Moog, but can we sign a contracted player from a European club after our window has slammed shut, I don't think we can, or can we?
He could easily say “Well my offer is on the table. I’m not prepared to wait to see if you get more money. You can either accept it and we progress with a deal or I withdraw the offer. And if Palace fail so sell Zaha, you end up with no money and a player who wants to move. Choice is yours.”
I expect Gino is skulking in his corner office, counting the players on the training pitch. He's our Mr Burns.
Quite right. In all negotiations it is important that the other side knows that you are prepared to walk away from the table with no deal
All this speculation when he has already passed his medical. Agreed terms, fee has been agreed. We are announcing him tomorrow. That’s what I keep telling myself anyway.
Na this one is actually looking a little scary - the Rennes owner is a **** and the Pozzo's will sooner walk away than backdown. We really need a fee agreed tonight if this is going to go through.
Can everyone please stop panicking! I’ve heard that everything has been agreed apart from the fee , player terms, which club he is going to and what position he’ll play in.
The problem is that Boris doesn't have anything worth as much as either Sarr or Zaha... and of course he has to negotiate not just with the EU, but two sets of Irish.. plus the Scots, the Welsh and... I forget who else. I feel like there's somebody. Once we're past all that, there's the key difference that I think Gino is likely perceived as honest - which tends to help in negotiations.
I suppose our national equivalent to Zaha would be the Queen. HRH to Strasbourg in return for a trade deal? Or to DC for the same? Pozzo would.
I imagine he’s worked out that CP have said they are almost certain to sell Zaha so he’d thank Gino for his time and wish him well. In fact that might be what’s happened.
Probably. Why spend a bit of money on an extremely promising young player and play him in his correct position, when we can just sign a crock striker on a free and shoehorn him out on the wing? Then we he gets injured we can go back to shoehorning Hughes there instead.
We're lightweight. HOL have ten times the number of pages on Mr Tumble. We need to up our game and gibberish.
Been reassured by a good friend who is a very reliable source for this information that Sarr was at the training ground today for his medical.
