Gone... and what a sound investment he was.. we got some great times out of him but things move on.. and so must he!
To think we almost let him go as a youngster for nothing and will now get 8 million for in effect 1 and a half good seasons.
Personally i could see Young turning West Ham down, granted they are a 'bigger' club but they are in a relegation battle just the same as us, if he wants to play chumpionship football he might as well stay with us where he's settled and a fans favourite.
Umm.... dont quite think its down to playingfor a club a bigger club, a little thing called money is usually a good incentive (sp) to move elsewhere
Perhaps, but he's smart enough to know everybody has their price and sometimes clubs are lucky enough to recieve bids too good to turn down, it doesn't mean Watford don't want him, it just means 8 million would be a suitable sum to fill the gap as such.
Agreed, but don't you think if all he wanted was money he'd have slapped in a transfer request after the first set of bids were rejected?
You're spot on. That's the inference I was trying to make. If we accept a bid he'll know it's best for Watford if he leaves - so I think he'll be off. Can't see him rejecting a club once we've accepted something.
