From what I've been hearing there are a lot of good quality unattached players out there who have been holding out for that deal that has not been forthcoming who are now beginning to get worried. Our very own JD being one of them. IMO there may be a bargain or two to be picked up amongst them, as their wage demands will probably be dropping as the realisation sets in that they could end up without a club. I think this is a good thing, because football wages and transfer fees have been getting ridiculous. It will probably remain high at the very top, but they are possibly the ones that deserve it, if anyone does? However, too many middle of the road players are being sold for silly money and being paid silly wages and it has to stop if football is to survive. What do you think?
Well clubs should be trying to balance their books more carefully but then when sides like Cardiff are allowed to spend big despite being close to administration no wonder some players still expect millions.
no-one is going to carry a big squad nowerdays. The average player is going to get cast aside and all good youngsters are going to get snapped up by the premiership clubs to bolster their "home grown" talent and U21 players
Which should mean the average premiership players will find a new level which will be The Championship. Therefore the standard should go up at our level, and hopefully wages should fall accordingly throughout football.
