Just been called up to the Sierra Leone squad. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/africa/5395886.stm
Squad Goalkeeper: Michael Tommy (unknown, Costa Rica), Brima Bangura (Mighty Blackpool) Defenders: Kewullay Conteh (Palermo, Italy), Julius Woobay (NEA Salamina, Cyprus), Ibrahim Kargbo (Willem II, Holland), Kemokai Kallon (Kallon FC), Alpha Lansana and Osman Yunus (Ports Authority) Midfielders: Umaru Bangura (Hennefoss, Cyprus), Samuel Ballay (IFK Manehaman, Finland), Nahim Kadi Jr. (unknown, England), Albert Jarrett (Watford, England), Yayah Jalloh (East End Lions) Strikers: Mohamed Kallon (Monaco, France), Lamin Conteh (Perlis, Malaysia), Paul Kpaka (Roeselare, Belgium), Sheriff Suma (At-Vidaberge FF, Sweden), Benjamin Sesay (FCV Dendereh, Belgium), Umaru Rahman (ACB Hanoi, Vietnam), Sidique Mansaray (Cenegal FC), Muhahid Sesay (Ports Authority), Abu Bakarr Bah (Al-Haed, Lebanon) a few points -well done to Jarret for the call up -Why isnt albangura there? - Umaru bangura is there, it says honefoss not watford, but wasnt honefoss a norwegian team not cypriot team?
Think they've stuffed up regarding Umaru. Hornfos is Norwegian and I think there is some sort of deal where we have first refusal. Don't think Al BangBang with his history will want to go back to Sierra Leone but I could be wrong. I thought the law was 5 years residency and you could change nationality? He may try that.
I was under the impression that even though he was born in sierra leone as part of the agreement with the french it is possible for them to hold a french passport and claim french citizenship, making them eligible for the french national squad, i am sure this is what the case is with bang bang.
