Careers more or less finished? Pererya had a slight niggle which is not surprising after a long time out. Hardly career threatening

Said this in the Mercury which is hopefully encouraging, or maybe not, hmm actually ambiguous:

"Roberto Pereyra's groin problem will be more of a worry for Marco Silva and Watford though.

It was innocuous too, just like his knee injury at Manchester City last December, but he never looked like carrying on.

He didn't look in bad spirits at the end though and was asked about his injury walking through the mixed-zone at the end; he gave a thumbs up and smiled, which can only be a good sign."

You don't take chances with groin or hamstring injuries. A 1 week problem can turn into a 2 month problem.

Even more so with us - had many a player out for months with such injures.

    Cathcart last season for example!

That's what Deeney said to me.

Oh sorry, misread it, thought you said full tank of Esso Synergy and 6 KitKat Chunkies. And some Doritos.

I reckon Jaanmat is his own worst enemy injury wise, over stretching for balls etc. That said I also like Feminia. Apart from the mad 15 minutes in the second half when collectively our defence was overwhelmed I thought he was excellent. Every player put in an excellent shift yesterday and Chalobah and Doucoure were wonderful. Cleverley great in first half where aside from Mane's goal Liverpool were not up for it. Can't criticise any of the players except Gomes who did not have to go after Saleh. Even Amrabat put in a good shift. Hope Pereyra is OK. Silva out thought Klopp who talks absolute drivel. Even some of their fans are critical of his coaching now and his substitutions. You could see Silva's mentality in our attacking intent. With guys like Hughes and Deeney not even on the bench I am very excited about where we are going.

    Muscle imbalance maybe?

Yes. They need to grow a new groin for Preyra from stem cells. Good news is the process should only take a couple of weeks. Bad news is we're 10 years away from having the technology.

Janmaat has been flown to an expert glazier in Venice for diagnosis. It's expected that all the King's horses and all the King's men will be hired to try and put him back together again.

Recruiting horses to do any sort of first aid is a questionable decision by the Pozzos IMO. I'm not convinced that a horse's hoof is the right way to go.

In fact, if I wanted to design a device specifically designed to make muscular injuries worse, it'd likely be hoof shaped.

Another poor decision in a summer of them by Gino.

Not even the slightest indication? Understand they wont know for certain just yet but they should have some idea. Even if they said 50/50, or doubtful, that would be better than nothing is my point.

I'd say there's a chance. Considering that all three player are "low-grade" injuries and Kaboul was playing through it. It could well be that it's 50/50 today but by Thursday and further work with the doctors they'll have an even better idea. I'd be pissed if they said 50/50 today and then after further assessment find out that Pererya actually needs surgery and will be out for 4 months. Makes them look totally incompetent.

Maybe they don't want Bournemouth to know.

I'm just glad they don't seem bad injuries.

Fair enough. Could just be managing expectations I suppose.

    1. They are unlikely to know availability for sure yet.
    2. Why give the opposition a chance to plan? Silva may even leak or give false information later in the week. He seems a very tactical guy to me.

I'd be surprised any of the trio play against Muff. Especially Pereyra, I can't see them risking probably their most important player.

Good news the injuries are not serious though.

Yep, and the other good news is that we no longer have a squad where pereyra being out cripples us due to lack of adequate replacements. I'm more than happy to see richarlison or hughes step into the fray. Or success (ok he was here last season).

Ive heard John Holmes stem cells are the preferred option. Might affect his running style and balance but Mrs Pereyra is over the moon.
