So there's no end to Wenger peering enviously over the fence at London Colney at our finely-toned athletes training hard and smacking in power drives from 40 yards, then looking back with a frown at his own dismal assortment of crocks, misfits, layabouts and secret smokers huddled together by a post and hacking up a few greenies as they share a roll up between them. First of all he wanted Aubamgebeyang (sp?) from our tutonic yellow & black distant relatives Dortmund. They told him to do one unless they'd got £60 mill handy. So now he thinks he'll get the same thing off the Watford market stall, where as everyone knows, everything must go at huge discounts the moment such a high 'n' mighty customer shows the slightest interest. Well that's how it's always worked isn't it? http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/01/0...atfords-odion-ighalo-after-learning-aubamey/? We can probably work something out that suits both parties. It's not a problem. Now, you paid what, £35m for that brittle lad Sanchez didn't you? OK so we'll take him, plus £20m in cash and you've saved yourself a nice £5 million! Not to be sniffed at.
Doubt the Arsenal link has any reality behind it however I actually think the summer wouldn't be an awful time to sell Ighalo. He's likely to miss a number of league games next season to take part in the Olympics and ACON for Nigeria in August and January. Even if he stays we're certainly going to need a decent replacement for him.

Clive is a capitalist at heart Being serious I imagine he will go in the summer somewhere for big bucks
Arsenal are envious and want our players. That's a big compliment to Watford. Wouldn't be surprised if it didn't stop there either.
According to the back page of the Mirror, Chelsea want him. https://twitter.com/MirrorFootball/status/689578521686048768/photo/1 More bullsh*t
If someone offered 30 mill for him in Jan, I'd take it. Have an unerring feeling he won't be worth that in June.
I don't think ighalos passing is good enough for teams like arsenal. Although I do wonder how many goals he'd get with service from ozil and Sanchez!
I'd take a bit less than that. I don't think he is good enough to maintain his scoring record in the Prem in our team, so I think his value has pretty much, peaked. Of course we'd be up the creek without a paddle without his goals so far, but we can replace him with someone better. I honestly think there are better forwards out there (somewhere) that have a better all round game as well as scoring ability. I think his "partnership" with Deeney is somewhat lopsided and Deeney would flourish with other quality (and less selfish) players around him. But, it looks like he is staying for the time being, and I look forward to him proving me wrong and he gets another dozen goals.
If someone offered 15-20 Million i would take it. Im still not convinced Ighalo is as good as people think. I think Deeney does all the hard work and makes ighalo look better than what he is.
In the last two games we've seen the worst of ighalo, but let's not suddenly write him off. I think he's replaceable but we're not even close to having a replacement yet. We need his goals for the second half of the season. If and when we have a backup looking like they could step into his empty shoes, then I'd care about the size of offers. Right now, 4m or 40m, we need him too much to even consider selling.
He's still our only player who looks like they can hit the back of the net - when he doesn't score we don't score! So yeah - no way we should consider letting him go.
Not until the summer, certainly. But I keep looking at how his failure to return the ball to Troy after about 20 seconds of the Swansea match lost us the chance of taking an immediate lead which could have killed them off.
I'd bite your hand off for £40m right now! That is an astounding amount of money. Yes he is currently scoring goals for the team as that is the way we have set ourselves up to play, with him as the main sole striker. He goes and we set up differently. It wouldn't be the end of the world and we'd find the goals and points to keep us up. £40m. It's a yes from me.
A and if you're wrong? You're gambling 120m away and it's not as though ighalo's value could drop significantly by June I makes no sense whatsoever to sell him now. We won't anyway, so it's a moot point
