Last time we went up we basically kept the team together and were relegated. This year the potential prize is bigger for teams that get promoted - and even more if they can stay there. With arguably two or three of the current team able to hold their own at the higher level, and with the club in a stronger finnancial position- the mental challenge of losing your employment must have an impact. The board and manager and most of the fans do want promotion - but without the team sharing that view, it is unlikely to happen.
As has been said on here before though they're hardly going to lose their jobs. In fact most of them would be in high demand at Championship level having at least one (maybe two) promotions to the Premiership on their CVs.
They will like it because their WAGS will like it ! Just because they are footballers does not mean they do not get maipulated and dominated by our better halves !! :]]:]]:]]:]]:]]:]]
I'm guessing a few our the squad (and staff) will have a salary increase if we get promoted. So I'm sure they'll be more than happy.
I was going to say... some of that bonus must be enough for them to forget about having to look for new jobs if they had to.
