During the QA with Steve Bannon, Truss asked him if he would work with Nigel Farage to ‘restructure’ the Conservative Party, presumably after an anticipated election defeat.

You might suppose, that this is in something of the way that a crocodile ‘restructures’ a wildebeest.

It's easy to throw around the word "c*nts* with abandon - but I really think it does apply to Hertsmere's Jewish Tories (please note the source of that article and who's that in the photos):

Five Hertsmere Tory councillors rebuked over antisemitic abuse at Jewish candidate
Exclusive: the councillors were formally reprimanded after a QC-led investigation into a smear campaign against Labour's Dan Ozarow

There's the Rabbi who was appointed, by the Tory controlled (at that time) council, to be the mayor (the 'Wood's quite a 'pink' place):

Hertsmere Mayor accused of making 'homophobic' comments

And the attempt to twin-town with West-Bank settlement:
Borehamwood council explores historic twinning with Israeli town
EXCLUSIVE: Proposal to be tabled in both countries after this autumn

Sunak makes address to the Nation from Downing Street warning that the UK is in the grip of extremism. Well the leader of the Party of Suella Braverman, Liz Truss and 30p Lee should know I suppose.

But this is the most egregious opportunism, desperately playing up moderate threats for a hoped for election return.

What is the actual situation? An increase in tension and racially motivated incidents, certainly. Loss of control of the streets, murders, riots? No, but though you feel there would be whoops of joy at Downing Street if there were.

The PM should, if nothing else, provide citizens with reassurance. Talking conflict up like this is shameful and transparent like child trying to hoodwink a grown up.

Extraordinary stuff. The party of increasingly extremist rhetoric says extremism is tearing the country apart.

That wasn't even the worst thing about Sunak's speech. It was badly-written word salad. A stream of half-conceived ideas.

As mentioned above, it's just weird opportunism and politicking. Galloway will be the MP for a matter of months until the next General Election. By elections are often slightly weird affairs and had the Labour candidate's comments been revealed before nominations had closed (good of the Mail to wait until afterwards to reveal them) he would've been removed and this wouldn't even be a thing. To pretend it represents some sort of existential threat to democracy is bizarre and desperate. But then that's pretty much the modus operandi of Sunak's government.

Apparently the wealthy owners of the press believe cutting taxes is an existential matter for the Tories.

But you should understand that this is because they care about the wrinklies. It’s not pure self-interest and anyone who says so is a communist or maybe an Islamic Extremist.

    Tories gonna Tory.

NI cut will 'save' people £250 to £450 a year. A cut that barely touches the sides in the face of two years of inflation and the damage done to people's mortgage interest rates by Truss and Kwarteng.

That'll require spending cuts. So central government will pay local government less and then local government will put council tax up anyway. But that's fine because enough of the public will point the finger at councils not the Conservative government. It's so easy!

Britain's infrastructure is crumbling. Less money for our infrastructure and services just means more decay.

Britain: The Expensive Poor Country. Designed and Built by the Conservatives.

Just spent a week in France where we've bought a little place (thanks to Grandad having the good sense to be born in Ireland). The differences could not be more staggering. When we signed up for electricity, they based our payments on the previous owner's bill - €620 a year (admittedly they didn't use the house in the winter, but they did have to run a pump for the pool almost constantly for 4 months). Water - €230 pa. Roads are fantastic, villages and towns are spick and span. Previous experiences of French medical system make ours look medieval. Food is expensive, but my god the quality is fantastic. We came back to traffic jams, litter everywhere and a pothole that means I've got to replace the undertray on my car.I can't wait to get back out there. Even Watford FC are helping - the grim ordeal of going to home games means I don't have to factor them in to travel plans.

Enough of my flaunting this in your faces - the point is that we have the highest taxes we've ever had, and the state of the country has never been worse. WHERE THE **** HAS THE MONEY GONE????

Oh yeah - the house in France cost us less than half of what a one bedroom flat in Harrow would.

First item in the Chancellor’s budget speech? A million pounds for a memorial to those Muslims who died fighting in WW2.

When I first saw this I thought by ‘nominal’ they meant they covered a three figure sum of this professor’s legal costs for whatever legal firm wrote a pre-action letter. And if so I’d have probably said no big deal.

    Turns out it was £15,000!

It's absolutely staggering. A Government minister must be held personally accountable for what they do and say. If she's not capable of expressing herself without defaming someone then the cost of the consequences should not be passed on to the taxpayers. She should be forced to pay herself. Or she should be prepared to defend her original statement in court at her own expense.

This is blatant incompetence followed by near-corruption.

Thing is if she wanted to go and make baseless allegations about someone she’s got the great privilege of being able to stand up in the Commons and do it, immune from any defamation claim. Ridiculous to do it in writing like that.

Watching health secretary Victoria Atkins this morning I was struck by her similarity to the 1960s version of Batman's arch-enemy the Joker, played so brilliantly by Cesar Romero.

I think they are better off with out him, although i suspect a few Tories likely to lose their seat at the GE may well follow hoping it will give them a life line.

It was bad enough seeing that Galloway wanted to form some sort of alliance with Corbyn to get more independents into Westminster.
If they named it "Catman and Corbyn" it would be about as looney as parliament is.

I’m not sure how these are related to Lee Anderson’s defection from the Tories, but in any case Corbyn ruled this out as a ‘complete non-starter.’ Galloway is a fantasist.

As i say Galloway wanted an alliance

Galloway and Anderson trying to pave ways for a new political world, all be it both in the far extreme.
you couldn't get two larger knb ends who think they could achieve this.
