After starting a new game with watford. I got relegated in the first season and was determined to go back up. The 2 other teams that came down with me was Sheff Utd and Newcastle Both managers got sacked half way through the season. Any way decided that I needed to get some players in. I bought Helguson for £600,000, Ben Foster for £2.3 Million, Gareth Bale for £1.2 Million, Tyrone Mears for £800,000, James Vaughan for £1.2 Million,Fajadardo (sp) £150,000, Thomaz Radzinski on a Free, Christian Vieri on a Free, Omur Peruso (sp) on a Free, Sebastian Larsson on a Free. I sold Jordon Stewart for £90,000 to Hull. I placed Gavin Mahon, Albert Jarrett, James Chambers, Mathew Spring on the Transfer list, Chambers and spring played well so came of the transfer list, Mahon and Jarrett stayed on the list for the whole season and no one came in for them at all. I start the season as favourites for promotion, starting line up was GK - Foster DR - Doyley DL - Bale DC - DeMerit DC - Carlise MR - Fajadardo ML - Smith MC - Purso MC - Larsson FC - King FC - Helguson My plan for the season was to rotate the forwards, as I had king, helguson,hendo, bouazza, young, priskin, vaughan and vieri. I also planned to rotate the midfeild to keep them on their toes but try to keep a consistant back line. The back line near enough stayed the same with Foster, Doyley, Bale, Demerit and Carlise. The midfield on the left Smith made his own, the right was rotated with Fajadardo, Radzinski and Young. The centre was Peruso being the main man with the other place being rotated with Francis,Spring,Bangura and Larsson. The forward line in which I wanted to rotate well lets say I found the perfect partnership with King on the Right and Helguson on the Left. King scored 28 Goals and Helguson scored 24 Goals, these two were in leathal form, so no other forward got a chance. I'm doing fantastic in the league in 2nd place behind Newcastle in 1st could not knock them off the top spot. 6 games to go till the end of the season and sitting in 2nd place 4 points clear of Ipswich in 3rd and my worst nightmare happens. King and Helguson both get injured for 8 weeks and all of my right backs get injured, and I made sure I had 3 right backs to counter act this. The last six games I started drawing games and lost 2, this led to Ipswich taking 2nd and I finished the season in 3rd. I was not happy, so here come the Play Offs. I get Norwich and my first game is at Carrow road and with out my first choice strikers as they have come back from injury but no where near fit enough to play. We draw that game 1-1, ok I thought , at least I've got the away goal. 2nd leg at home, Must win game. I go 1-0 down, bang goes my away goal advantage, I pull one back 1-1 and then with 10 seconds to go before extra time Norwich get a second goal, what makes it worse, it was an own goal by Ben Foster. So another season in the Champ, and I lost Francis to Norwich on a bosman, as he wouldn't sign a contract and the board wanted the wage budget down. I managed to offload Mahon on a free, Chambers has gone to Wolves for £210,000 and I'm having a clear out. I gem came from the season and that was Sheku Kamara, had to play him in defence for about 10 games due to injury and suspension and he played great, average rating of 7.75. Lets hope I get the promotion this season.
Almost identical to my game with watford at the moment. Got relegated after first season and got in the playoffs 2nd season but lost in the semis! Currently starting my 3rd season having signed Nugent and Mido on a free.
Good luck in the cahmpionship, what positions are you hoping to strengthen. I recomend Charlie mulgrew,Enyeama and Halford for a championship/premiership game
I had Enyeama but he got fed up with championship life and i had to let him go for 3million. Kevin Larson from Lyn Oslo is a great signing.
