Cant find the old thread on the new forum? Mods please merge if that's not the case. Does anyone know if anything ever happened re the HSBC letter, they were saying possible points deductions etc at the time? Can't recall any recent statement from either league or WFC? It was definitely under investigation, do things like this just go away & get forgotten about? Perhaps it was a fine/slap on the wrists in which case it was probably dealt with internally without a public statement?
The whole thing made the Football League (and possibly the FA) look bad as it implied that they didn't check the letter in the first place. WFC sent off a detailed report to the EFL/FA, the person who was directly responsible for sending the letter had already left and Rafaele Riva fell on his sword as the direct supervisor. That was the last that was in the public domain. I suspect that it has been dealt with behind closed doors and the fact that the Pozzos clearly had the funds so we never directly benefited from the incident.
I still want to know how the Telegraph got the letter to break the story? My opinion is it must have been Bas, he knew what was going on because he obviously sold to the Pozzo's, so had access to all the legal docs etc & also knew the bank from his tenure & above all the only one with an actual motive?
The FL are playing a patient waiting game hoping we'll be demoted so they can expel us from the league. Well I've got news for them!
More forgery apparently in the case of Momo Mbaye http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-e...ted-hornets-failed-send-representation-trial/ Apparently we didn’t know about it...again.
Pretty bloody shoddy by the looks of things. Why do I get the feeling some major thing will come out somewhere down the line that we’re involved in that won’t just be a “whoops” sort of affair. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I can’t imagine we’d be so stupid as to directly forge anything as it’s not like you could ever realistically trick a player (before anyone mentioned Holebas that was different). But our behaviour does seem very odd. You can only assume it’s the agent that is dodgy and we took it all on good faith before slowly realising that fact.
Yes, this seems likely. I suspect the club were duped by someone and belatedly realised it shortly before the trial. That would explain why they didn't bother showing up. If they were actively falsifying documents they'd never have gone to court - it wouldn't pass any level of scrutiny. This smells like an agent pulling a scam, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see if more details emerge.
I can confirm that there's absolutely nothing stopping you from expecting him at London Colney this summer.
